    So...Anyone ever see this problem??

As the video explains, I get an engine miss, only when pushing the clutch pedal in about one inch. It's not far enough to disengage the clutch, but maybe far enough to activate the clutch safety switch, perhaps? The car is 7mgte, 560cc injectors, Lexus maf, intake and exhaust. No other engine...

Quick question about turbo oil drain

My '88 project began having an Issue with serious, SERIOUS oil burning. I have a brand new, fully built 7MGTE, zero miles. Car had been started a dozen times, and driven only twice, for a total of about 1/2 mile, to load the piston rings. Later, it began developing the oil burn issue. At first...

Engine under cover: Anyone still have theirs installed? Pic request.

As the title states, I need to see a pic of the under cover installed. Specifically, I can't see how the front edge is supposed to tie into the lower valence of the bumper. Online, it shows the part number is exactly the same for 87-92, but I don't have any mounting holes in the bumper that...

    Finally upgraded...

If any of you saw my other thread, I actually DID upgrade my '89 tape deck to a 2001 Camry tape/cd deck, and it was way better than the original. Problem was, the deck started going out on that one as well. And what should I expect from a 15 year old tape mechanism? Also, my system was lacking...

How To: Replace driveshaft support bearing

Hey guys, I decided to do a bearing swap writeup with pictures, simply because I hadn't seen one. To begin with, I should say, that I didn't really notice any vibrations while driving the car before beginning this. It was simply a logical repair to do while the driveshaft was out for clutch...

Next question- What replacement antenna for the 89+ wing?

My antenna appears to be shot- both the mast and the motor are dead. Was looking at Metra and Hirschman antennas, but was wondering what other people have used in place of the oem antenna. Are there any concerns to be aware of, regarding the retracted height, on the 89+ wing? Or am I just...

Swapping oem radio for another oem...what are the possibilities?

Hey guys, I have an '89 turbo, and the deck in it is stock, but has some issues(noise, broken backlighting), and i'd like to replace it with another oem deck. This is my cuurent deck: Heres two other oem decks; one is from a later supra, the other from a Rav4: Is there...

Project: Git'R driving...a VERY short build

Hey guys, Some of you may have looked over my other build thread- "Project Get'R done", a build that is now going on 3+ years that covers every single part of the vehicle, for restoration and modification of my '88. This won't be that. I hope to finish that car by this fall, but in the...

    My targa-friendly sub box

I figured that I'd post in here, since NOBODY ever does. I had begun to fiberglass a spare tire sub box, but decided against it at the last second. 1)- I want to carry a spare tire, and 2)- I was afraid that the sub would cause the rear deck to rattle if it was mounted below. Anyway- this is...

Adjustable fuel pressure regulators: Which ones hold static rail pressure?

I was wondering if anyone of you could share their experience with aftermarket fuel pressure regulators. The one I currently have is just Ebay crap, and I'd like to upgrade. I want one which holds some static(resting) pressure in the line, rather than draining down to zero after shutoff. Do...

Quick question about mustang wheels and bores.

I was looking at a set of new FR500 rims, and the wheel bore is 70.6mm Our hub bore appears to be 60.1mm. Now I've seen alot of guys put mustang wheels on their cars, but I haven't been able to locate a hubcentric spacer to fill that bore gap. My questions are: Am I not looking in the...

    Quick measurement question:

Does anyone happen to know the length of the stock, unmolested gearshift lever, from socket to top of threads? If anyone happens to have a shifter sitting out on a shelf, I'd really appreciate the info. Thanks.

    Cross-compatible radiator fans?

I tried a quick search on this, but wasn't sure of what terminology to use: I'm wondering if anyone knows of any compatible fans from other Toyota/Lexus models, that could be used on the supra. My clutch is fine, but the blades themselves are kinda ratty. i just wanted to know if anyone had...

    O2 delete question...

Ok, let me just admit right now that i didn't try to search this subject beforehand: If i use a wideband O2 gauge's output to simulate the narrowband signal to the ecu, do i need to worry about the heating circuit? I'm wondering if the ecu will throw a code because it's not seeing the proper...

For those of you with a 4" turbo inlet: what filter do you use?

Just wondering what my options are. I've been trying to find something like an Apexi or Blitz, but cant seem to find any that will clamp onto a 4" intake pipe. I see spectre filters, but dont really think those are the best quality. Any suggestions?

Electrical question - coolant warning switch

Hey folks, There is a temp switch installed in the thermostat assembly, which acts as an overtemp switch. My understanding, is that once the coolant reaches a certain temp, it activates the a/c fans. What i'd like to know, is which sensor is it on the T-stat assembly, and exactly what...

Um. What throttle body do I have?

This is my throttle body: It uses a normal USDM linkage. However, the new gasket(as well as the old one I had) Fit like this: One of the two "mickey ears" lines up almost correctly. Almost. The other is off doing its own thing, entirely misaligned. Is there a year-type changeover, or...

Quick question- What size is the oil galley plug on the front face of the block?

So, my question is... oh. I guess I already asked it. Anybody know? It's either 5/8x18, or M16x1.5. ...i think.

    Cracks me up...

So many threads on how guys cant get their cars to run... I cant kill mine! I pulled my car out of the garage, and removed my entire exhaust, entire intake and intercooler system, AND the MAFT system, to sell them. Then i realized i'd never be able to push the car back up into the garage...
