So, my question is...

oh. I guess I already asked it.

Anybody know? It's either 5/8x18, or M16x1.5.

...i think.

I come from a land down under
Don't have a 7M here to check but more than likely it's 3/8 bspt, all of the early Toyota engines were built using British Tooling after the war so a lot of the holes are tapped to BSP where pipe fittings were needed.

Update-
(since SO many people obsess over this life-altering issue...)

The oil galley plug is neither NPT or BSP. Apparently, it's a metric size.
I didn't really need to know the oil galley plug size per se, but rather the rear collant bleed valve near the back of the block.
My bleed valve is so corroded and useless, that I figured I'd just throw an oil galley plug in its place.
I checked the fit of an oil plug in the hole, and it fit perfectly, but the dealer wants $35(!!!) for one.
Thus, the hunt for a replacement part. I guess it's a metric size after all.

Crazy as this might sound, check your local Caterpillar dealer for parts comparison. They have some pretty serious hardware variety...
