Took the car to 180 kph (umm... okay.. dont read that if your police... it was a short burst), and other than a slight body wobble (from targa.. really gotta retorque my frame bolts) the wheels ride smooth as glass. Didnt think it would be that large of a difference, but the car feels much better. I wanted to go 10" in the back, but for the price I paid for these, I am willing to settle for 1" narrower until I do my phase II wheels. Now to sell off my old rims : )

Thinking of powdercoating the center the same color as car.. like the shine, but it may be a bit much on this car.

do these rub on any inner components being +35? if you would change your offset now would you increase it or decrease it? I'm thinking 17x9 with anywhere from 20-35 offset. cant make my mind up. cheers.

On mine, nothing rubs .. is kind of a perfect fit. My speedo is about 3km per hour faster than what I am actually driving in my 88 (90 has a different gear), but they fit perfect imo. Now.. when I lower it, that may be a different story, because I think the tread may be a little too flush, so I have to be careful. Two things I dont want.. 1. To slam the car.. (not my style), 2. Rubbing.. (I hate having tires rub anything.. thats not what they are meant for.. lol)

If you look at the pic, you will see that the inside lip of the quarter panel would cut just outside of the wheel tread if it was a massive bump (one that could make them hit... which wont happen). If I were to drop say 2", I would have to use just a wee bit of camber to protect them.

I will say one thing though.. going from mainstream wheels (aka cheap) to Work wheels is a massive difference. I used to think my subframe bolts needed to be torqued because at speeds of 140 kph+ I would get what I thought was a "targa" wobble with the top off.

Slap on the Works... nothing... just some minor vibration you can feel in the shifter.. all the way up to 185 kph. Love the wheels.. and very very glad I went ahead and put them on. Totally different car now.

I should also add, that initially I was thinking that 255 35R18 was too low.. After doing the math, etc.. its perfect because I have 225 40r18 in front. The ride is level. I would have to find a 90+ speedo gear if I went 255 40 in the back I think. Otherwise I would be too far out.

Wheels make the car.

Thanks for the info, i have been looking at all sorts of wheel offset calculators and tyre calculators i am pretty happy with my thoughts on what i will be buying, but then again there are so many options out there.

I am dropping the car about 65mm all round so i will get the springs and shocks + sway bars sorted first so i have an indication of how much room i have left as that could completely change my plans.

will be test fitting a few wheels of my mates as soon as it's lowered s should have some interesting pics up in the next month and a half

do it! im waiting for bilstein shocks all round. the ones with 15mm spacer grooves x3 of them, they can ALSO be converted into fully adjustable with just an insert. and 50mm lowering springs all round, so will sit 65mm all round. (do not need a certification for this where I live) definitely needs to be a suspension/drop thread!

Got an almost free set of 17x8 front with 235x45 tires and 17x9.5 rear with 255x40's. Due to backspacing it appears I'll need !" spacers on the rear to clear the coils. Whats the best way to use spacers? Longer studs or bolt on spacers or never? (even if the set is almost free)

Eibach drop with i believe stock camber
Currently sittin on TT rims with a 35mm spacer on fronts to match rears

But i need new shoes so im leaning towards
18x8.5 +25 front with 235/40-18
18x10 +25 rear with 275/35-18

Im thinkin they will fit with no modifications; but who knows, my math could be bad.
Would like another input!

just got some tsw's. 18x8 +20 and 18x9.5 +20. i was thinking 235-40's in front and 265 or 275 35's out back. any chance these will fit without rolling and pulling the fenders? i'm sure the front will be ok, it's the back i'm worried about.
also, the car is not lowered right now, but it will be soon.

I have 19/8.5 with 245/35/19 +35 fronts and 19/10 with 275/30/19 +30 rears on cusco coilovers. No rubbing

nice looking car there.
i just noticed the wheels have a different offset than the seller posted. the fronts are 18x8 +40, and the rears are 18x9.5 +35. i guess they will be in farther than i thought. this might actually work out better.
if anyone has any thoughts, just let me know.

i know, but for the price i'm ok with it. i'll just get some spacers and call it a day.
plus, i'm not after stance. i want the car to be functional and look good. right now there's 17x9 +24 and 17x10.5 +27, and they stick out too far for my tastes.

here's a pic with 315-35's and 275-40's. the back wheels stick out too far. i don't want to ruin the fenders just to make the wheels fit.

i have 275-40's on the back now, and they will definitely rub if i lower it. there's a lot more tire choices with the 18's anyway.

What do you think about those wheel or brand. I was thinking about the xxr 521 18X10 +25 but i prefer the fitment of the following wheel (18X9.5 +30). + they are available right now and xxr 521 are back order.
What size of tire i may be able to fit without rolling the fender.
What about a 255/35/18 in the rear and a 235/40/18 in the front? Rear may be extremely flush without a roll but i'm not sure about the front...But i care less about rolling the front than the rear since the lip is thinner, no hammer will be need you know...

Those wheel are now mine... Now i'm not sure about the tire, i want to avoid roll if possible without heavy stretch on tire. Is it better to go with 235/45/18 front, 255/40/18 rear OR 235/40/18 front and 255/35/18 Rear. The firsts one is -1.1% and -2.2% smaller than factory( almost the same... so better) but should be easier to fit no??
