Differential whine. Backlash or wear problem?

In my opinion, definitely. If you put stock subframe bushings back in it would likely be as quiet as stock. I have a rebuilt diff with poly bushings and it's too loud for my liking.

Differential whine. Backlash or wear problem?

Poly subframe bushings will make any diff noisy, even a rebuilt one.

Crank Pulley Bolt flew off !

What's the best product to use on the threads? I've heard that red Loctite is not up to the temperature the crank gets and does not hold.

Urethane foam injection for increased chassis rigidity...?

I did mine in 2008, 12,000 miles ago. No noise, still nice and solid. I estimated about 40lbs using 8lb density foam. We went the extra mile and cut a hole so we could scour the inside of the rails using a couple of different size chimney brushes, vaccuum with a small hose, blow out, etc.

    I bought another Geo Metro

Mythbusters did a test and found that running 40psi tire pressure instead of 35psi gained them 6% in fuel economy, and 50psi gained 7%. 40psi seems like a good sweet spot for a solid MPG increase.

    CajunKenny's Build Thread

It doesn't get much better than the old-school German MB Quarts. I run 2 pairs in both of my cars. They were $599/pair back in the late 90's and won most of the SQ sound competitions in those days. Because the new ones are so cheap, and not nearly as good, the old ones sell for cheap. I got 2...

Raised Cowl Hood Feeler Thread (DO U WANT ONE)

I think mine is 2". Also, I might suggest shaving the windshield washers, and picking up a set of GM clip-on nozzles that attach to the wiper arms. That's what I did, and just extended the hoses for a cleaner stealth look. (I think they were from a '95 Pontiac Grand Prix) Also, I think any gas...

Anyone ever order parts directly from BIC Performance???

No worries about BIC. You guys might be surprised to know that he did all the custom bodywork on my car in my signature pictured below.

Need some help posting on Craigslist

Hey guys, I've got a business-to-business telesales job that I want to advertise in a few of the larger US cities, and I've discovered that Craigslist is the only place that is cheap/free and has enough traffic, compared to things like careerbuilder which charges over $400 per ad/city; but it's...

    CajunKenny's Build Thread

I can't believe that I found stock horsepower 225bhp "very fast" when I test drove one 12 years ago, when I was thinking of upgrading from my Mk2!

This combo is definitely something to appreciate. I feel quite lucky that my stock JDM 7MGTE has held up reliably for so long at 435rwhp on pump gas. Kenny, are you installing your meth kit soon? You will probably make that much power too. Once you get used to that, 350hp feels slow! :)

    Precision 62mm Billet Turbo 6262

I've got 295 BF Goodrich KD's for rubber. But it still spins in 2nd unless it's super hot out, or I drop the boost a bit. I use my AVCR to ajust the boost per gear, depending on the conditions. If it's summer, I run 12psi in 1st, 22psi in the rest of the gears. If it's winter, I have to run...

    Precision 62mm Billet Turbo 6262

I run a forced performance billet 62mm, which is quite similar. With my quick spool valve and a .84 T4 hot side I see 15psi by 3300rpm and 435hp at 22psi with pump/methanol on stock ECU / SAFC. I think it's around 370-380hp at 15psi. Can't really beat this turbo/QSV combo for a street car. I...

Where does the Fuel Pressure VSV mount on the intake side?

Be sure to use zip ties on all those lines. Nothing's more annoying that trying to get in there later to fit them back onto things you cannot see or feel. If you're running higher than normal fuel pressure, I found that removing that VSV made no difference with hot or cold starts.

    The Mistress

Dual relays/fuses splitting the load would probably work too. I run a single 30/40 amp relay and I upgraded to a large heavy duty fuse that looks just like the black one pictured, but it's about 3 times the size of a normal one, Lordco has them.

    The Mistress

^^^ This has happened to me 2 times, even with 30 amp fuses. I just recently had to install a monstrous sized jumbo fuse and 8 or 10-gauge wiring (available at Lordco). I suggest buying the same thing. I had to order in giant bare crimps and custom solder them on, covered in heat shrink tubing...
