At this point it's up to the reader as I stand by my statements as well. Not just for minivan/camry owners but for any car. I think anyone else wondering about it should do their own reading.
Short version of my side: Mixing is fine if you know what you're picking. Don't just grab two...
Did some 'homework' just now.
Every tire site with a 'tire safety' page lists the same 'general guidelines'.
Don't mix radial/nonradial.
Don't mix snow/all season.
Don't mix different tires on the same axle. (what I've been saying)
If mixing sizes front to rear, keep the lower profile on the...
How'd you know I was at the beach? :3d_frown:
What I was getting at is that mismatched tires on the same axle is a big disaster, but mismatched front/rear is fine.
If you look at treadwear/speed ratings on tires of the same model you will see what I'm talking about.
Take the example I listed...
Didn't know this was a pissing contest. I'll be sure to whip out my credentials and write a novel every time I give an answer on your site.
BTW, Most people are more than willing to get whatever is available and end up with mismatched sets of tires. Tire stores allow it because unless the...
Never had a single problem with different tires front/rear running AutoX, RallyX, or going up and down the dragons tail. Many professional race teams will run different compounds front/rear.
Not to mention that even across the same model, two differently sized tires are very likely to have...
I'd check the manufacturers website for the tires you like.
IE, I just did a quick check at Bridgestone and found the RE760 in 245/40/18 and 275/35/18. (2nd number is a percentage, so they should match up fine)
That was just the first tire I looked at.
Tire stores don't always offer all...
I'd vote 1uz. Nothing like a 4.3 V8 for moving a heavy Supra.
1) It's something not everyone has done.
2) It's an extra 1.3l and 2 cylinders to get the car moving.
Although I haven't driven a 1uz Supra, my dad's 92 LS400 is nice and smooth and kind of reminds me of a larger Supra with a soft...
Blitz DTT DC4 - Makes up for it with a boost gauge though ;)
The FATT has a VM, but not the DTT.
I'll probably just hook up the Apexi Rev/Speed I had in my Celica. Needs a new faceplate, but I may custom mount it anyways.
Why not? Mine's been a DD for almost 5 years now. Other than 2 months getting her running when I first got her she's been more than reliable enough.
And with the 89 in the shape it's in, I hope you can do the work yourself. Supra's get real expensive real quick if you have to take it into...
Are you talking about moving out of your parents place or moving to a better neighborhood?
Either way, if it's close to a rebuild you may as well wait to move and have a reliable car.
Those first pics look just like mine before I replaced all three valve cover gaskets.
The new OEM 3rd cover is still leaking a bit, but not like it was. The next time I change the plugs I'm gonna get the NAPA o-rings.
I would start by removing the paint from the KS mounting point.
After that I would do a rewire (either order 2 plugs from Toyota and get some shielded wire or order from Shaef).
If it still throws a code it could be a bad KS. This ended up being my problem (finally fixed it last night with a...
