    Allans White Supra

Allan: :thefinger I still convert it back to MPG for it to mean something to me! xx litres per 100 km's is clunky. "Gas" refers to Gasoline and is just a terminology thing ;) Gasoline, as it is known in North America, or petrol, in many Commonwealth countries (sometimes also called...

What does it mean to O-ring a block?

Joel: O-rings + Steel gasket = bad! The O-Ring needs to sink into whatever gasket material you use or there won't be enough pressure on the water passage part of the gasket and it'll leak! (I saw a brand new Cosworth Sierra block destroyed by a machinist not understanding this concept I...

What does it mean to O-ring a block?

If the ends of the wire aren't dressed correctly and butted just right they'll leak even then if you're using a Copper gasket it's pretty hard to seal the water passages. Another alternative is "Cooper Rings" But the 7M's bore spacing is too close for them. (Gas filled copper rings that drops...

What does it mean to O-ring a block?

You cut a groove into the block that takes a stainless steel wire. The wire sits proud of the block and provides localised pressure on the Fire ring in a composite gasket helping it seal combustion pressure or under a Copper gasket. Not needed on our motors with an MLS gasket Jake.

It's time for dyno video v3.0

Adjuster: I ran my Irridiums at .28" and it was breaking down at 20 psi swapped em out for Copper's same heat range same gap and it's perfect. The IR's seem to overheat and glow plug on long pulls at moderate to high boost.

    intercooler pipe size question

I'm a little confused to the reasoning behind the mismatch in pipe size? The Hot air is less dense therefore Larger in volume and once it goes through the IC it'll be cooler/denser/smaller so if you were going to run Odd size pipes wouldn't you go hot=3.5" and cold=3"? Having said that...
