Ways to cure 7M oiling issues

see my above statements. it's not a problem of restriction, it's a problem of limiting max press/flow.

Ways to cure 7M oiling issues

arnout over in the netherlands makes a girdle and a windage tray IIRC....if a scraper isn't your thing. IMNSHO the #1 fix is the stupid oil filter mount....next to a properly rebuilt engine, of course.

Redline MT90, Royal Purple 75w90, GM Syncromesh, or Other?

great point. it's easy w/redline though- MT-90 and MTL are for transmissions....beware of their "normal" 75w90- it has friction modifier in it!

Redline MT90, Royal Purple 75w90, GM Syncromesh, or Other?

trans oil totally depends on the climate in which you'll be driving. MT-90 is heavier than MTL, so choose accordingly. personally, i run heavy shockproof...

    As Requested: MaftPro Install writeup

yeeeps, that's correct...sort of. the '89+ HAC mod isn't *that* serious, but it isn't for the electronics noob. because of that, we offer the service free of charge. as with the rest of the MKIII info, i will be publishing a document on the HAC mod as well....some day. i need more...

    As Requested: MaftPro Install writeup

my deleted response was a sarcastic reply to aaron's reply. personally, i'd like to know WHAT more people want....the MAFT pro has been far more supported than ANY other piggyback out there. short of making it install and tune itself, i'm not sure of what more needs to be done... hard for...

MAFT PRo Timing Monitor Setup Q's?

man, i love it. WHAT isn't good about it? the fact that no other device can do it? i am about to give up attempting to HELP the "community"....it's a joke and a waste of my time. i cannot combat the flood of misinfo on the intarweeb.... the only reason you would want to reconnect R7 is if you...

from the mkiiitech.com MAFT pro FAQ: Timing monitor setup: -set Fin to 20 -connect yellow wire on MAFT pro harness to G2 -clip resistor R7 inside the MAFT pro case (IIRC it's on the back of the board) ... http://www.stillsports.com/mkiii/r7.jpg ... R7 is the AFM input pull-up resistor. to...

    550's or 680's

the important thing to remember is that you have a clue as to what you're doing and 90% of those that will read this don't. i tend to cater my advice, etc. to the uneducated masses.....

    hey guys several Q's?

whoa? quit being a pansy. 1 shot of spark isn't that bad.... sure you could use the accels, but why not get the right part?

    550's or 680's

depends on how many tuning parameters you want....

    hey guys several Q's?

bad plug wires. sounds like the insulation is cracked. remember high V actually travels on the OUTSIDE of the conductor....

    hey guys several Q's?

yeah, you'll have to pull it all apart to fix it. :( no probs leaving it noisey....if/when it decides to die, you'll know. but chances are that's a long time away.

Safest Highest Fuel pressure for overall system

SHOULD is the operative word there....you don't know unless you find out. in-cabin FP gauge will tell you that.... yup, stick a VM on the FP wires and do a run. the 12V mod isn't going to change anything @ WOT (unless there's a problem w/the relay...). the ECU switches over to 12V for WOT.

    hey guys several Q's?

throwout bearing or pilot bearing. :( depends on temp and RPM. see the TSRM for acceptable range check codes, see TSRM.
