I used a dental pick. The biggest help was going out and buying a new razor and holder (as the old one kept closing on me). That was a PITA gasket but its done now. Hopefully, I will get some of these winter projects wraped up soon as the weather is to nice to be without a fun car.

Are you talking about the interior dome light? If so there should be a nob with i believe 3 positions. One is off, one is on when doors are open, and one is always on. Try adjusting that first. If you still have a problem i would say there is a wiring issue.
