no, you cannot fill the rack and cap it, you would have to install a bypass between the high and low pressure lines on the rack, or else the fluid will be working against you as you turn the wheel.
A member on this board that goes by the name of tubbie has a pile of parts cars in georgia (hint: rust free) and he cut me out two rear quarters. Aside from that, you can buy new replacements from Champion Toyota for around $625 per side.
have you verified the operation of the thermostat? It sounds like it is either stuck open, or improperly installed. You're not using the mocal ot2 thermostat by any chance are you (there was a design change, thus there are two different sets of install instructions....pm me if you want more info)
haha, that was a deadline I set for the car last year that I missed by a long shot...I'd like to make it there this year with the car for sure assuming everything is together.
thanks for the comments guys.
the parts are starting to roll in pretty fast....I've got to start assembling things quicker...
Things that have recently arrived/will be here shortly:
~20 2.75" mandrel bends for ic piping (got a wicked deal buying bulk...)
-silicone IC couplers with t-bolt clamps...
bronze looks hot on colorless bodies (black/white)
of course I'm biased, as I have bronze on my white car...
92nsx: I'd think old school fits our cars pretty well.
You sure? I replaced my driver side window with the glass from my old hard top car and there was no difference in fit.
Also, the EPC only gives two part numbers for the side glass - one copper and one blue: http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/EPC/291420/Parts/68101.aspx
in my experience, there is no difference between the targa and non-targa glass (side windows or rear quarter windows) The only difference is in the color.
I haven't seen green, and i don't think there is a PN for it in the EPC..copper and blue are your only choices.
(from what I understand, blue glass is in cars with blue or grey interiors, while the burgandy and tan interiors get the copper)
both windows are pretty easy to install...the TSRM pretty much holds your hand through the process - just source some replacement windows from somebody parting out their car.
