    To clear things up, i have a q45 tb sitting at my desk, from a 92 i believe. (Measured with a Mitutoyo digital vernier caliper, calibrated Oct 2/07) Behind throttle plate, ID measures 79.94 mm (the bore then opens up to 82.60 mm at the flange) Inlet ID measures 83.98 mm

    why the hell would you bother if the motor is already set-up as a turbo? If poor low end torque from the lower compression is what you are after, go for it by all means....

    There was a member on SF a few years back that did T-tops on a mk3...looked decent. Don't remember his name or what happened to the car though. Maybe some of the other senior guys can chime in about this.

    Stupid question - door handle removal/installation

    Can you remove/install the door handles with the windows installed? My new set of lock cylinders is 3 months away and I'd like to assemble as much of my doors as I can. I don't want to go through the trouble of installing/aligning the windows just to have to tear them out to install the door...

    thats the nature of casting....especially those from china. unfortunately, the price of most wheels doesn't allow for radiography or ultrasonic inspection.

    epc shows only three colors available for those moldings, so chances are, your parts guy is right. (it seems that even if certain parts are discontinued, they will still show up on the epc...here, there are only three choices)...

    Exhaust Manifold

    Get a ddp if you want to deal with the wastegate issue. If you are still using a CT, there is no point upgrading from the stock manifold. Polish the runners of the manifold if you want to increase it's efficiency - don't port them; all you accomplish by porting is losing exhaust gas velocity.
