After much deliberation... and a whole lot of denial... I decided to put this Supra up for sale a couple months ago. Very sad to let this car go. I went back and forth about a billion times and decided that I must pass this Supra on to someone who can enjoy it more than I am currently able to...
It's amazing how difficult these have become to obtain. $580 is not bad for a brand new set. I think that's pretty close to what I paid.
Great job on sourcing these! Supra rides soooo nice with them.
Cheers
The only place I see them is this seller from Ebay. It's a dealership (Bruce Titus). I think they bought a batch from last year's allotment. They only have 4 left...
4.5 years for 49K to inflate to 88K? That's some serious inflation. lol
ah... tricky tricky... I didn't realize it had literally never been sold. Wow that is very interesting. I bet Toyota would not be too happy about that. It would no doubt develop a laundry list of mechanical issues and...
unless canada warranties are totally different than us warranties (whichever comes first), there's no way it's still under factory warranty. time limit expired long ago.
but yah i dunno bout asking that much for a MK3. Sticker price on these were about 30K at the time. With inflation, that'd...
Personally I would be very cautious about this. With that few of miles, the car hasn't been driven regularly in any capacity. That may not be a good thing. Fluids and oils need to be circulated. Engines need to be run on at least a semi-regular basis. Mine has very low miles at 79K and even then...
I opted for the tried and true ST Sway Bars. Was a little over $300 just for the bars. Don't regret it for one moment. They really add so much additional rigidity that it's definitely worth the cost.
Of course when coupled with new springs and shocks the Supra feels like a whole new machine.
yes. he pretty much did. that was the point of this thread. until we get the results that you all are awaiting... what else can the Supra community do but troubleshoot by hypothesizing? I don't think it's odd or laughable at all that the Supra owners reference their own personal experience and...
sounds like a blown turbo. the other elements like oil on the fill cap are likely a compounded problem, but the rough idling and smoke out the tail is probably the turbo.
You should contact Albert here on Supramania. He built me a 57 Trim but I'm pretty sure he can set you up with something that can handle more.

all very good points. the rubber parts on our cars are old and pictures don't always tell the whole story. gotta find out what's been replaced and how it's been cared for. if that info is not available because it's a dealership and they don't know or whatever, then a lot of these things that...
Exactly what I saw first too. Lots of rust areas in that engine bay. That would likely spell trouble for the other parts of the entire car.
Thankfully we don't have to worry too much about rust in SoCal.
Well, yes technically but it states right underneath that they are on national back order at this time, so you can't buy them yet through that link.
However, it also gives an ETA of March 15, 2015, so it might be a good idea to check the link again soon.
Yah it came in a reversed (inside out) magnaflow box. I talked to the guy who makes these and he said they are the highest quality he knows of. As you can see from the pics, it appears to be true. Sounds great and I don't detect hardly any power loss in moving from a test pipe to this HFC...
That link from dmp316 is for the Tokico blues, which do not include TEMS.
If you can miraculously find the Illumina IIs, get them! Pair with the Eibach and add some ST Anti-sway bars.
That's the exact setup I went with and it's very nice.
Here is my thread with quite a bit of info on...
Thanks man. Yah the white package for 91-92 is awesome!
and to do a real quick follow up to this earlier post, I finally got up underneath the Supra this past weekend and put this bad boy on.
Looks great. Sounds perfect. No complaints. If anybody wants to get a high quality high flow...
Perfectly happy! I love the way my Supra rides now. If you can find the Illuminas, get em!
Here's some brand new pics of my Supra with the full suspension setup.
