As far as i know i am not hitting fuel cut. it will wrap out to 6 grand if i push it with no problem, not planning on doing that often, but when i did boost stayed right at 4. I am going to swap out to the old setup to see what it does. I was told my oe bov was shot how can i tell?
Is there...
ok, ill leave it in there then. I dont think the boost is pushing it open where its at anyways cause when it boosts it will hold it at 4psi, it doesnt drop off or anything funny, i would imagine a boost leak wouldnt hold psi correct? I am going to hook up the mechanical gauge tomorrow and see...
When i got it the adjustment bolt was barely threaded in, would it make any difference whether i pulled the bolt out or just barely left threaded? what type of adjustment is it for anyways? vac psi to release or spring psi to keep boost from opening the valve?
I am trying to upload one right now here is one similar from ebay:

I am not sure what kind of bov it is? think its similar to the hssq? i am not all that familar with bov's
I am def building the leak tester tomorrow.
Could it be possible to have the bov hooked to vac wrong? i have a t in the line with the boost psi sensor
the bov is vented to atmosphere, put it on cause it was free and my old bov was shot.
The turbo does have some axial movement, side to side in the housing but it was boosting to 7 something psi before, i did the head gasket. car has no running issues either
I am using the stock gauge...
What is the easiest way to raise my boost psi on a stock ct-26 turbo? The engine is stock, with the exception of aftermarket bov. my boost is only reaching 4psi. do i adjust the bov? manipulate wastegate? I am wanting to invest in a boost controller probably just manual for the time being until...
The csi is in the upper plenum, given it only works on cold start up for a certain amount of time, if it stays on too long you will smell fuel in intake areas, mainly upper plenum. And most likely in vacuum lines that come off of manifold.
OP: if you have the exhaust off, with atleast the...
Is the click you hear inside or outside? starter relay or solenoid? if you can hear it by the starter next time you get it to just click try gettin a pole or prybar and tap on the solenoid. Do you dash lights or interior lights dim? if they dim slowly the starter might be drawing too much or...
I would start by making sure your grounds are good and tight as well. when metal gets hot it expands when cool it shrinks, just a thought maybe you are losing ground connection when hot, and after sitting and cools down you get a better connection?
When stating which cylinder is prone to bhg it would be that cylinder number, not where that cylinder is in firing order. number 5 is second to last from firewall,on any inline 6 engine period. Not being an ass.
as far as hoses go, you have 3 on the backside of the block. one in the center...
*****UPDATE******
Drove the car runs great, no more smoke, think it was just shit in the exhaust. Some minor issues though:
Car overheated, might not have been purged of all the air and fans did not come on. it was gurgling but not spraying cool just steam? and no smoke or anything from...
Ok so now the car smokes at idle, its kinda bluish but smells like fuel? Off idle the smoke is gone, but soon as you let off it smokes still any ideas? I thought maybe it was just burning all the shit out of the exhaust from my rebuild but after getting to temp it was still there? any ideas
The alt one is somewhat simple by removing the vac line bracket for the vsv. i found on the one closest to the starter if you remove the to grounds and manifold support bracket you can reach in there pretty easy with manifold on. since i was doing the head gasket and had head off it was cake to...
Well right now i am using an ebay purchased hg, i know tisk tisk right now this car is only being run stock with this gasket, as far as boost and electronics. I got a spare that i am building. Anyways i purchased it because it is made by the same company that we get our head gaskets from at...
well mine is with the sensor in and hooked up? like i said i am not having any problems so i am not going to dick with it until i do or if it is absolutely necessary. if i can get my cam working and get a decent pic i will post it.
That makes sense so what if any would be the benefit of running 3 with the rewire? i am not sure how my third is wired in, spliced with ks1 or ks 2? i am not having any issues with it but do you see anything that could go wrong by leaving it in?
I replaced mine and now my problem is completely gone. Had 3 prior that tested good but were infact bad. so like said above try finding one to swap with to test.
