If you have oil in the intake, i would assume you might have a bad turbo, or bad pcv system. I dont know of any other ways to get oil in the intake system. Check your intercooler lines at the ic, the lowest hose will collect alot of oil if the turbo is bad.
And yes usually oil on top of the...
the barbed fitting should be for the coolant hose that runs up into the isc, atleast mine is. Its towards the front of the lower intake near the fuel vsv.
Get the dmm and check for draw, i am not sure what the spec is for this car in particular, but most cars like to see less than .1 amp. You will wanna check it in mili amps to. Dont forget you may have small amount of draw due to ecu but it will be minor. if your reading are out of spec or...
IF you got a new battery and its still doing it sounds like as mentioned you are pulling way to many amps. While you got the negative terminal un hooked do amp amp draw test on it see if you have a hidden draw that is robbing a lot juice over night(all acc turned off of) If you do this could...
I know that i meant the amount of pressure the components can handle. but yeah i feel ye on proper tuning and what not is where most of it is at.
So what would be your ideas of how much hp a stock 7m could handle? (with upgrading fuel system, turbo and tuning)
stock meaning:
internals...
I am not 100% but i have had rings do that, when cold they would not seal up properly, after engine was warm smoke was gone none there after until sitting over night. You can always do a leak down test (make sure each cylinder is tdc compression). try it on cold engine with fuel and spark...
any overheating issues or coolant loss? Oil consumption? Does it only do it when it has sat overnight, or have you noticed? You could have bad oil ring(s). letting some oil get past when you go to start it after it has been sitting over night or however long. Not bad enough to smoke when...
Like said above, faulty afm wont rev, but it will cause a lot of over fueling, found out the hard way, and it will usually set a code. mine would rev up and die when you let off due to flooding and would then set afm code 31
If you got the money and time changing the head gasket would be good for future upgrades. The only downside is you need to completely bare block the engine and head and have all surfaces machined, if using mhg. The advice i got on here, since iam using an oe gasket, is you can just clean the...
have you checked along the drivers side strut area? i believe the smaller of two is just a check connector and the bigger one bigger one i think was for one of the old ac fans. you do have all the wires by the diag connector hooked up too right? check between that and the fuse box, that small...
When doing the compression test make sure the engine is warm TSRM, you can get lower than usual numbers on cold engine. You can also try coolant psi test, if the hg is blown, when pressured it can push the coolant into the cylinder(s) it will also be helpful to see if the turbo housing is...
How was the csi? if you moved the igniter make sure it does have a good ground, this could cause intermittent issues but they, i dont think would be different hot or cold, unless that igniter acts like an old v-8 engine block mounted coil, that would tend to overheat and cause randoms missfires...
I am not quite sure how you set the fuel psi,, i mean whether you apply vac or without to get the base.
I do agree with double checking. while you have it apart or the 3000 pipe off, turn the key on or power up the fuel pump(given your lines are hooked back up, open the tb and look at the...
I take it all back, first i need to clarify which end of the line you were smelling? taken off of reg or line taken off of vac supply form engine, while still attached to reg? If you have mass amounts of fuel in the intake system you will smel it on the vac line if still attached to engine. If...
Most of the bad reg that i have run into leak fuel back out. There is always a possibility that is stuck internally too, fortunate to have one that is rebuildable. You said your bro has a supra as well, you can always pull tha vac line off that one with it running or after has been shut off to...
On the warmer days when it takes longer after sitting, could be "hot soaking" or whatever other term you wanna use. When you crank it when it wont start does it smell of fuel at all? I am sure you didnt have a spark tester on it when that happened. If the csi is not working properly it could be...
