Sounds like is may just be the brake booster taking the vac it needs. park it on a flat spot where you dont need to apply brakes and slowly turn steering wheel, ps using vac also, see if you still have your vibration. Worst comes to worse jsut dont rest your hand on shifter when applying brakes/ lol
how is your exhaust system? factory or aftermarket? I had a bogging issue when i bought mine which i thought was afm, but turned out exhaust was completely plugged, dont remember if i had codes or not, but it would not rev at all or move out of its own way.
Just seen your mod list so exhaust...
How bad of a vibration are we talking about? These cars have power brakes so when you push on the brake your booster is taking engine vac to keep brakes good. that might be your problem. I know when i roll up both windows at the same time, putting and electrical load on car i can see my vac drop...
Turbos usually had r154, check the inspection plates r154 has two inspection plates on it. hard to miss. Also slave pushrod is inside rather than being exposed. chances are the switch is just bypassed. Check right a at the clutch pedal under dash for switch.
This is to anyone buying a used supra from someone that tells you its "done right"
Just helped out a new supra owner tonight that bought a 90 targa turbo, Anyways the po told him it ran perferct yata yata yata........ come to find out the wiring was jacked mainly to the cps. got that fixed...
Yeah never heard of them. It may be pump. I know for a fact it is not a vac leak. Just got my buddies car running tonight, no bov lines, and lots of vac leaks still idles but like shit.
Nikki must use GOLD coil windings inside the injector:) that always make things better lol.
Positive it is smoke and not steam (BHG) I have heard venoms are shit, but no experience. You would think with a stuck injector your fuel pressure would drop due to fuel flowing faster? Buy a stethoscope from harbor freight and listen that way. maybe try tapping injectors see if it clears up...
I would rec the mhg first. This requires head and block surfacing (backing plate also), Head studs too. I however made 371 on a composite gasket but do not recommend (bhg). In my case i did the 57trim, upgraded ic kit, lex afm, 560cc injectors, afpr, fuel pump and safc2.
There is a sticky on...
check codes. i dont think a vac leak will necessarily kill car. I took my charge pipe off my turbo and it stayed running, really rough though. describe the symptoms more clearly. You start car it idles and dies or what? Dies when you touch throttle? please explain more
Not sure if it varies state to state but maybe by doing that he can lower the hc and still be in range with the increased nox? Also, i have heard of people creating vac leaks to pass, not sure how that would help but guess it depends on where you are at on the scales. Also heard of a pre cat...
I am running the aem tru boost, like said off the ignition switch. I have that and wideband mounted on pillar and that mean less wiring to run. The included wiring with tru boost for solenoid is more than enough length to reach past front bumper. I pulled mine through firewall on driverside...
I have never dealt with emissions so this is in no way a suggestion. Couldnt you advance your timing a bit, just for the test purpose? Or would that create other problems? I mean over advanced timing runs hotter correct?
I ran my switched 12v off the ignition switch. which iirc is fused. have had no issues with my wideband or tru boost.
Also depends on where you mount your gauges. for easy access and less wiring
I have the same setup but mine is a knock off for now, works great. I noticed alot of surging/flutter sounds with it vented to atmosphere, re routed it to the accordion and all is well. Make sure you have it on the vac port on tb iirc you do not want ported vac. also if you are running stock afm...
How are you checking codes? If you hit the throttle, or have ac compressor on while checking it will set this code. Try clearing code. make sure ac is switched off and do not touch throttle. Check codes. if nothing shows up, test drive and recheck the same way. Test drive with ac off also. If...
