11 years with Toyota, 5 with the 7M.
1 year was spent blowing the crap out of a 22RE 85 Celica GTS (should have kept that one and thrown a 7M in it now that I know better)
4 years with a 7AFE 95 Celica (very JJ like as the only things it needed were oil changes, a couple motor mounts, and an...
Update on mine: Reman Denso compressor + new Toyota(Denso?) dryer = ~$130 shipped. I'll swap those when they come in and then take it back to the shop and see what else is leaking. I figure on ~$300 worth of custom hose/freon/shop labor.
OP: It's probably better in the very long run to switch...
Decided to take mine to a pro Sat morning. (I'll mess with just about anything else, but A/C is something I feel should be left to a qualified tech)
As soon as he started giving it pressure the compressor started leaking in more than one spot.
So I'm going to replace the compressor and dryer...
I've run both AmSoil 20w50 and Castrol GTX 20w50(depending on financials when I hit 6k) for a few years now and it does fine. Like said above, just let it run for a minute before taking off. Consumption fell from 1 quart every 600 miles to 1 quart every oil change.
Next change I'm gonna try...
Other way 'round.
It looks like that BOV does recirc. Just route the hose to the accordian and then you don't even have to worry about running to AZ, unless you don't have the hose and then you'll have to go anyways.
Just over a pack a day for 14 years (2+ for a few years there, but back to ~1.25 a day now).
I have no intention of blaming anyone but myself if I get sick. With all the problems I've inherited smoking is the least of my worries (high blood pressure, high cholestoral, heart disease...
Now that you know why they used screws.
If you want to use bolts to clean up the look of it, M6 x 25mm available at any Autozone/ACE... Just don't tighten them too much.
Don't forget the '3rd valve cover'. You'll need a 14mm Allen head socket to take the plugs out (~$20-25 at Sears), but...
By checking fuses, did you just look at them, or use a test light or multimeter and actually check for voltage?
ed: Also, did you check the fusible link? It's bolted in, don't just yank it.
Sounds like the ECU isn't getting any power.
Is the fuse still blowing?
Likely there is a short somewhere causing the fuse to blow. Leaving the 'jumper wire' in there probably allowed further damage. Start at the fuse box and start checking for frayed wires, bad grounds, or any other...
Probably. I took it to Toyota of Orlando 2 years ago and they recharged it and told me the high pressure line was leaking and I had a list of other parts (elec fan in front of rad, main fan shroud...) that I fixed myself and it's worked for 2+ years. Looks like they were right about the line.
I can add ~13.5 when the light comes on. The needle hasn't worked right in a couple years. I plan on checking the floater when I replace the fuel pump.
Most I've ever added was 15.5 trying to make it to the gas station when I first bought it, and I barely made it there. (picked up from a...
You had a redneck neighbor that hit your driver side rear corner next to the light too. :naughty:
I knocked it 95% out but it's still visible and needs filler/painted (wouldn't need filler if it wasn't so hard to get to that area from the inside).

That's what I thought. Oh well, what good is having a Supra if you don't have to throw money at it constantly.:3d_frown:
I think I'm going to take it in this weekend and see what my mechanic says. He hates seeing me because I only bring him the 'I can't do this one myself' stuff and I'll be...
