About 4 months ago, one of the plastic tubes on my heater bypass valve cracked (No clue how, just coming home from the Publix and started steaming when I hit my street).
Since then I've just removed it and routed the hose from the back of the head directly to the heater core.
Now that it's...
Great meet, great group of people.
If I still lived in TN I'd be there. I still have my shirt from the 1st PF meet when we were getting kicked out of parking lots and staying in a cabin. That was the only time I've ever seen 3 black 6g Celica ST Hatchbacks side by side racing through the...
I 3rd that motion.
btw shaeff, how's that black box working for your project?
I get 90% of my parts from the dealer and am ~70% done with my 'resto-mod'. I'm going for that 'what the factory should have done' look. A little lower, tinted windows, with about 350 rwhp.
(stem seals, ps hoses...
In response to the original topic.
I'm more into road racing and my car couldn't pass inspection (they do have tech here). Currently it needs new PS hoses and a new water pump gasket to stop the leaks and I don't trust the original 20 yo fuel pump to hold up at the track. I'll have all that...
http://www.cygnusx1.net/supra/Library/TSRM/MK3/manual.aspx?S=D&P=21 and the previous page(20) are what you want to look at (not much difference in that circuit GE/GTE).
Other lights on that circuit:
License plate frame
Glove box
Cig lighter light
Ash tray light
Turn Signals (comb...
You'll still want to trace the cause. If it was blowing there was definitely a reason.
It's better to spend a couple hours on your day off then to get stuck with no lights in the middle of the night.
For those with halfway decent soldering skills who want the box to work without paying $100+ for a new one:
Take the plastic off
Resolder the connections at the plug
Put the plastic back on
It's normally just a couple solder joints that have become brittle and broken over 20 years, causing...
I'm running B&G springs with Tokico Illumina IIs and it's a good ride on the street. I still need some sway bars and a couple bushings, but other than that I'm very pleased with the TEMS system.
If I were going to drift/road race/autocross... then I'd go with coilovers, but for the street...
My thoughts exactly, but I was hoping someone might have more info on this thing. My google searching by name brought up some raunchy stuff and model # didn't pull anything.
The only wire that isn't already wired in its harness(87-88) just connects to IDL.
It is in good condition, I'd...
Well, I don't know it to be both, I was just going on the way it's wired. I still have a USDM ECU and my EGR system.
It's wired like:
SPD -> (Box) -> ECU
KS -> (Box) -> ECU
IDL -> (Box & ECU)
Just wondering if anyone has heard of this company. The only thing I know about them is that they were around in the late 80's and made auto electronics.
I found one of their products strapped to my ECU while rewiring knock sensors over the weekend. Niether of the 2 previous owners I've...
Been running a red top for ~4 years now. 2 mild winters in TN and 2 hot summers in FL and still going strong.
The tie down and some wiring has since been replaced. And I mounted it with the 'spacer' on top to prevent the possibility of shorting against the hood.
You do need to adjust it using a standard ohmeter.
Just print a copy of this and the next few pages to have handy while doing the swap.

Basic rundown of TEMS:
The tip of the strut is D shaped. The opening on the upper mount is D shaped to match.
The TEMS motor mounts to the upper mount one of 2 ways, which are 180 from each other. So either way it will turn the same amount in either direction. The motor turns what looks like...
+1
I've been running a test pipe for a while and don't smell a thing other than a small amount of burnt oil here and there (valve stems). Even standing behind the car with it running.
