That'll work. Remember to put the temp sensor away from the exhaust / turbo... I put mine between the valve covers initially, and it heat soaks something awful there. So I moved it to the passenger side front, where the IC pipes go through the fenderwall.

This. Tell them to take off the minimum they can while still getting you a perfect sealing surface. Then get the numbers for what they took off and use that to calculate your head gasket thickness. If you've got the wrong one, sell it and order another one.

Or you could buy some paint, and spray your stock calipers, if you're really concerned with how they look. Quite a few companies make a specialty caliper paint that will hold up to the heat just fine, and I'd be willing to bet the cost is less than the covers.

Suzie, these things are actually pretty easy to diagnose. Just put an ampmeter on it, unplug all the fuses / relays, then plug them back in one at a time and keep an eye on the meter. When it starts showing anything significant, you've found your culprit. I've seen this caused by everything...
