MAFT Pro in AFC Mode. Do or don't...?

Where did you mount your MAFT Pro, and how did you route the wires? Mine is below the stereo, and I put the wires through the Engine harness plug in the firewall.

    im having a water leak

If it's really what you've circled in red in the second picture, it's a freeze plug. However, I don't recall there being one that high on the block right there, which means it's either coming from the back of the coolant bypass pipe and spraying on the block, or your head gasket has blown...

    Strut / Shock questions

QFT. Find the knock sound, it's likely to fix your problem at a cost of 10 minutes with a wrench instead of hundreds of $$$. If your shocks are blown, you'll be able to bounce that corner of the car and it won't stop bouncing. Ok, that might be a bit of an exaggeration, but it will bounce...

MAFT Pro in AFC Mode. Do or don't...?

Nope, it reaches there just fine.

MAFT Pro in AFC Mode. Do or don't...?

That'll work. Remember to put the temp sensor away from the exhaust / turbo... I put mine between the valve covers initially, and it heat soaks something awful there. So I moved it to the passenger side front, where the IC pipes go through the fenderwall.

how much should i tell the machinist to deck my head for a 2mm hks mhg

This. Tell them to take off the minimum they can while still getting you a perfect sealing surface. Then get the numbers for what they took off and use that to calculate your head gasket thickness. If you've got the wrong one, sell it and order another one.

    fog lights dont work?

HID headlights will handle vibration FAR better than halogens - there's no filament to break, thus, more durability. Weather doesn't seem to affect them either... I use HIDs for night riding on my mountain bike as well, in rain, snow, everything. They are a pain in the ass during snow at...

The story of my Supra....My 2JZA70 supra!

Very nice job - and a very nice writeup, too. Enjoy the car, looks like a lot of fun!

She gave me her home number?

Dude. A number is a number. If she wasn't interested, she'd have given you a random number. There are lots of possible reasons why a girl doesn't give out her cell number, none of them really matter as long as you can still contact her. Now if you've been dating her for 3 months and she...

MAFT Pro in AFC Mode. Do or don't...?

I don't see why not... it certainly shouldn't cause any harm, and it'll spread the installation woe out over a longer period.

    Canadian Turbo Rebuild Shops

I've seen some really reliable 57 trims, and they top out at ~400 rwhp, with an impressive spool.

    Caliper Covers?

Or you could buy some paint, and spray your stock calipers, if you're really concerned with how they look. Quite a few companies make a specialty caliper paint that will hold up to the heat just fine, and I'd be willing to bet the cost is less than the covers.

    Tell Me I'm Stupid!

Ok, You're Stupid. Hey, you asked for it. IMO you're about to run right smack into the Fast, Cheap, Reliable rule. Pick two. Going the Ebay route you've already chosen Cheap...

    Dual Battery Setup

Suzie, these things are actually pretty easy to diagnose. Just put an ampmeter on it, unplug all the fuses / relays, then plug them back in one at a time and keep an eye on the meter. When it starts showing anything significant, you've found your culprit. I've seen this caused by everything...

    Interior and seat restoration

Ya, just the front seats. I *might* do the backs one day, but they look ok, and they never get used... I shouldda bought an MR2. ;)

    Interior and seat restoration

Fabric wholesaler. It's pricey... $96 / meter wholesale, so about $135 / meter retail.

Burgandy? Wtf? Are you talking about where the sun is shining through the windshield tint? That's black. lol... there's no burgundy in my car. Nothing but black and blue.

    Interior and seat restoration

lol - those are dark blue! The wrinkle lines are simply part of the pattern - just the way things were done in the 80's. Look at the stock rear seats, they have the same thing going on. Although the fabric does show huge differences just by how you brush it - you can draw on it with a finger...

    Interior and seat restoration

A few pictures of my interior. I actually finished this last fall, but I was putting it all together for SILV and was seriously rushed at the time, since then, I've just been lazy. The front seats are recovered - not in leather, the stuff is hugely overrated IMO. This is upholstery grade...

    Dual Battery Setup

That's great for a truck where you want lots of power to everything all the time, but not so great for a car where you want one to be 'disposable' and the other to be there to start and run the car when you need it. I've done a lot of these setups back when I worked in the car stereo world...
