supra's finally running ... two questions!

Pulling the EFI fuse does not diminish the fuel efficiency. All it does is remove long term fuel trim to the original tables, which will net about 18-23 mpg city and highway combined use. A lazy oxygen sensor will often not store a code, but give you shitty mileage. Drive it easy if the O2...

supra's finally running ... two questions!

    1) a. How heavy is your right foot these days? b. Do you know how to check the oxygen sensor? c. Do you smell gas? 2) Toyota will handle nearly everything. Some smaller dealers may outsource body work.

    EGR valve ?

I do realize it. However in this case, EGR removal has been an "issue" since I went to internet Supra message boards. And after repeating the same stuff for a few years, it gets old. Especially in the same forum. I agree about not reading every post. I don't do it either.

    Turbo coolant line recirculation?

I agree. It is a safety net for the masses. It keeps the turbine a little cooler for hot shut downs.

    octane and timing pull

As I was reading my own link from another thread, the one with old technology, it indicated the timing retard was scaled amounts depending on the knock frequency. If the knock persists, it goes back another amount, until it stops. If it does not stop, the MIL is illuminated and 53 is stored...

    Headlight problems?

If you look at the link to the EWD posted, you will see it is nearly impossible for the factory system to do what you are describing. The integration relay powers the headlamp relay, and the motors for retracting. The ground path is different for high and low, low is through the switch, but...

Turbo and manifold questions. Need good advice

I can't say that I am going to ever mod the car that far for power, but I see bolt on turbo's that easily do it.

    New Headgasket Opportunity

It doesn't matter how good this gasket is, if you keep putting a new headgasket on a non flat or pitted block, you will be one of the many BHG recycles. Don't some of you wonder why you get BHG over and over, yet others never do? You still need a flat head and block, regardless of surface.

    Car isnt starting! Help!

He doesn't need to do a bench test. If has battery is good but discharged, voltage will be lower and amperes will be higher. If the battery is bad, the voltage will go high, known as full fielding. If he has an alternator problem, he won't have adequate output period. edit: yeah, you won't...

can't find the rewire thread or info to rewire the ks

Before you rewire it, make sure the knock sensor itself is putting out a signal. Check Shaeff's links page.

Where to buy copper fuel washes?

What does heating the washer do to it? The rule is that after it has been crushed once, get a new one. Which is why they are included in the kits.

How important is the RPM wire in a HKS FCD? needed or no?

I believe that needs to be hooked up in series with the airflow meter. But you really shouldn't use it at all.

    afm sensor problem

Before you go buying a sensor, you have an intake leak. Find it, it will not be in plain sight either. The intake leak will cause black smoke, or even better, stalling. Then come back for the rest.

    Cool spark pic

Yeah, MSD claims multiple discharges at low RPM.

    got gas?

It can be a John Deere relay as long as it is a standard relay with 85 and 86 as the control portion and 87, 87A, and 30 as the switched portion.

    afm sensor problem

When you rev it up, it doesn't shut down? Why would it shut down? Black smoke out the exhaust is a sure sign of grossly incorrect air fuel mixtures. That comes from engine position and timing, and the air flow meter. Pull your codes and see which ones you have.

    EGR valve ?

Unbelievable. http://www.autoshop101.com/forms/h25.pdf Start with page 19 of 24. Then really pay attention on page 24. http://www.autoshop101.com/forms/h61.pdf Read the whole article. Funny how EGR will only work on cylinder 6, but a front facing intake manifold will deliver...
