Doesn't have to...stock head thickness is 116mm from the valve cover deck to the HG deck. The best way to go would be to use a MHG thickness that makes up for the difference for the material removed from the block & head.
Since you lapped the head and didn't deck it, did you have the...
This is interesting SC...I don't have experience with it, but you did peak my interest.
A couple of things I gleaned from reading about the NPG cooling system:
- It uses Propylene Glycol...a close relative of Ethylene Glycol you find in standard coolant
- It's designed for use in a...
Guys - It's very difficult (if not impossible) to determine what and where a sound comes from on the 7M. It's hard enough in person, much less a sound clip or video on the internet. There is no way you can listen and say it is definitely one thing or the other. All you really can do is point...
That sounds like a stuck thermostat ;)
Yes, I know it's new...had one do it to me. What brand thermostat did you install?
This assumes the HG was installed correctly and torqued down to ~75 ft/lbs.
Yeah, finally got tired of the displayed ignorance.
Actually, I saw a significant decrease in EGT when I had to install the EGR to pass emissions. Here's the thread:

It's held consistent.
Made me a believer...follows exactly what you've...
Dr Evil - I'm not going to be as nice as JJ...I've been watching this thread and came to the conclusion that you sir are a:
You have a basic understanding (at best) of how the EGR works in the 7M. Obviously did not read any of the references Nick provided. Then presented an emotional...
Hmmm…doesn’t look like there are many takers on this thread. It would be nice to get one on Red Line :)
It’s really not that hard to take a close look at the oil you’re putting in your motor…might make ya think about it too ;)
Ok then…I use Castrol SynTec...
Looks like to me you've already chosen your path ;)
You want a fast spooling turbo with good flow...the bigger BOSS series will do that. You will need an adapter for the manifold you're using, but you wont need an external wastegate and will be able to use an available downpipe. Or you...
You're focusing on inducer size and not what the turbo flows...the flow also depends on the compressor housing and the efficiency of the turbine. To make an accurate comparison, you have to look at the turbo map to see the flow in CFM. The boost in psi is not an indication of how the turbo...
Perfect example of persistence pays off...you found a very simple, elegant solution for cleaning up the engine bay.
The best part is it works well (I can't see any reason it wouldn't) and looks really good ;)
Nicely done!
I can't remember if the TRSM list that or not...I've always just made sure the linkage relaxes full travel with the gas pedal up. I leave just enough slack in the cable to where the pedal barely moves with my foot on it, just as a bit of feedback feel for my foot.
I've seen the Fram version...it works, but doesn't hold a candle to the Futomo quality wise IMO. Plus, the ball valve design of the Futomo makes it pretty much bullet proof. But hey, whatever it takes to make a nasty job easier. No way in hell I'm ever going to let the monkeys at Jiffy Lube...
The dash pot should have no impact. Cable could be too tight or you have binding in the linkage. Have someone step on the gas while you take a look at it under the hood.
Sure you got the TPS adjusted correctly?
;)
