Listen to Nick...you need an oil cooler on a turbo motor ;)
And it is a LOT easier to change oil filters w/ a remote set-up...if you leave the filter at the stock location, you will need the turbo filter head to prevent inference with the turbo compressor piping to the IC.
The way you have...
Make one out of a FUBAR head...lop the top off just above the head bolts with a metal band saw, machine to clean up, machine the deck flat, bore the combustion chambers out oversize to clear the cylinder cutter. All the bolt holes will line up and you can use stock head bolts to secure.
That was funny as shit!
Urban Dictionary:
Narps
- Nipples that are hard for no apparent reason.
She was just sitting there when she noticed she had narps.
I saw this mod when I was building my motor...decided against it for the reasons above. If this line fails (for any reason), the party is over pretty quick. If I were to do it over, I would use the hardline ARZ has come up with for a bit more volume. It would work well with a shimmed relief...
Sigh.....
Do what you want, but let me point out a couple of things:
- A cop car is not a Supra...it's not near as modified as some of the cars here
- Cop cars do not have turbos...dino oil will coke unless you allow for turbo cool down
- The amount of $$$ some folks have invested in...
It will if you change to the dual aux fans...the pre-'89 only had one aux fan. Don't forget to get the bottom piece that goes around the fan.
BTW - I have a CSF radiator myself...excellent radiator. If you use the stock shroud, it should fit perfect. As noted, the dual FAL fans need a...
OK....;)
As RPM increases the drive fluid allows the fan clutch to slip, increasing engine efficiency when less fan-assisted air movement is needed due to higher vehicle speeds. A direct drive is going to use more engine power at high rpm...not to mention the noise ;)
There's the danger...
::hah::
I assume from your silence, Mobil 1 EP is exactly what we thought concerning base stocks...a Grp III oil.
It's fine to state your opinion...just back it up. There are far too many people on this forum that just pull crap out of thin air. Take Ric above for example...completely...
Outstanding...lets assume the definition for "synthetic" is the same as in Europe...Grp IV or Grp V base stocks. And since we're talking about the base oil (not additives), what is the primary base stock used in Mobil 1 EP oil?
A CG analysis is hard to argue with from a technical...
I'd like to see these facts for myself...I e-mailed Exxon about this and got a sidestep answer..."all Mobil 1 oils meet or exceed standards for synthetic oil. It is formulated to perform under the toughest conditions...etc, etc". Never answered the question on if it was still a PAO based Grp...
