buyin a used 7mgte, lookin for some guidance

I ignored this as an unintentional phrase, but be aware that we do have a strong black demographic in this forum, and they might not think it a harmless error.

Ok, Trooper is back up, and I also received my second T4 spacer, so I welded the two together. Then I received my wastegate, and test-fitted that to the manifold. Got as far as making one fuel line. Still have to finish the other two.

Is the engine on a stand? You can test compression on a motor thats not installed. You just need to hook jumper cables to the starter positive and ground, then trigger the solenoind with positive. You can also certainly do a leakdown with the engine out of the car. Other than that, You can look...

    7mgte

Once your engine is warmed up completely, hold the throttle open slightly, to get the rpms areound 2500-3000. any rattle-sound then? You see, my MR2 has slight rod knock, and when I start it cold in the morning, it knocks for about 3 seconds, then goes dead quiet until its fully warmed up. Then...

    7m crank 6m or 1j

6m and 7m are indeed interchangeable. You definitely have a unknown crank, if it hits anything. Can you post a pic?

    my slow build

I like your plan. That's what i decided on. I knew from experience, that if i tried to just do upgrades while using the car, it would never get done the way i wanted. So i got a daily driver, and have taken the slow road to restoration. 1 year and counting, so far. Only 1/3 done.

    Project Git 'er done!: Stages 1, 2, 3, 4....Stage 5- Reassembly after 13 years!!!

I just bought an Egay special. Mine has a 21" circumference. I'm not sure if the smaller size is 19" or 17", but this one seems to fit well enough.
