Because there's a little pendulum in the Seat Belt retractor that senses if the car is at a weird angle/upside down and locks the belt. car that can pull decent G's in any direction will lock it.

Jack it up and put stands under the lower control arms as close to the rear wheels as possible then grab hold of the wheel and wiggle it top to bottom side to side.
It's cool I know you're not but I just wanted to make my reasoning perfectly clear, this is just the way I do things as I'm not keen on failure.
"If" the Bores all measure up fine round and not tapered you're good to go but the chances of that are slim at best.
