Having some issues on a fresh build

Update: Thought I had the leak nailed to a coupler on the upper radiator hardpipe that had a torn inner wall. Just found out about an hour ago that it's still leaking, looks like the T-stat housing for sure. As for the oil pressure issues, that's where the fun REALLY begins -- Hooked up the...

Having some issues on a fresh build

No, I didn't replace the oil squirters when I rebuilt the block...though in hindsight, I probably should've. Admittedly, I was in the mentality of get it back on the road with a running motor, then I was going to build up my original block later down the road, so this block wasn't intended to...

Having some issues on a fresh build

Hey guys, finally got the car started yesterday, but ran into some issues that I'm still trying to puzzle out. I guess I'll go by bullet-points to keep things organized. - Not registering any vacuum signal on vac/boost gauge, and AFPR pressure doesn't change when disconnecting vac line -...

CEL staying on before starting motor

Awesome, thanks guys! I guess I'm a little paranoid after having this thing down for so long...lol.

CEL staying on before starting motor

Hey guys, need a bit of help here -- I finally wrapped things up with the car (aside from putting coolant in), and hooked the ECU back up tonight. When I hooked the battery up and turned the key on, the CEL stays lit; I jumpered E1 and TE1 and it's just flashing constantly, so I'm guessing...

I've been running Silblades on my truck since 2003 -- first pair I had replaced under warranty due to the carbon fiber screening on the frames sun-fading...but the blades are still functional. I swapped 'em out in '06 and have been running the replacement pair ever since. Best blade on the...

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

Yesterday: Got alternator installed and put alternator and A/C belts on (belt p/n for the older sethron drop-down setup is a 5K486 belt in case anybody's wondering), installed e-fan controller, installed cold-side IC pipes, installed most of turbo inlet pipe/AFM/Filter assy (waiting on one...

    Name this water line...

Now I'm glad I peeked in this thread...would've completely missed that connection. Looking up from under the car, is the fitting that the 2210 hose goes to on the bottom front of the lower intake runners? Not sure what happened to my factory hose, it's been about 3-1/2yrs since I first yanked...

    ct26 60-1 vs turbonetics 60-1

The method floating around (that I even downloaded and printed) talks about using a multimeter/voltmeter to measure the Vf signal. Basically, set your pressure to factory, then adjust the screw at idle until your Vf is dialed in. There may be tweaking involved with both fuel pressure and the...

    WWYD (What Would You Do)

I'm running a 3mm gasket and that was still too short. If you get adjustable cam gears, you can degree the cams back into alignment...that's what I did. Or, you could get everything decked, then measure for exactly how thick you gasket needs to be...order that one, sell you 2mm to make up the...

Regarding the spray sealer -- read this thread first... http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?29335-Thinking-About-Using-Spray-Sealer-on-a-MHG-...Might-Want-to-Read-This Oh, and it looks like whatever machine shop you used before to deck the block screwed you...that block doesn't...

    ct26 60-1 vs turbonetics 60-1

If you have the Reg Reimer screw in the AFM, you can dial things in using that and the AFPR pretty easily so that the ECU runs close to stock.

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

Haven't done the vacuum lines yet, just did the wiring -- ran the extension harness through the firewall the other day, and finally plugged it in at both ends. Wasn't difficult, I ended up putting the EVC in the map pocket under my stereo; drilled a hole in the back of it to pass the connectors...

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

Yesterday: Finalized mounting of cutoff switch, put new oil feed line on turbo, mounted radiator and hooked up hoses (have to take back out though to mount probe for fan controller...D'OH!), primed oiling system, put front of motor back on (timing covers and crank pulley), scratched my head on...

    MHG vs Cometic

There have been a few guys that I know of in the Dakota R/T world that have run Cometic gaskets without machining the block/head surfaces for a specific RA spec and those things leaked like a sieve...they ended up cheating and spraying them with that gasket sealer spray (yeah...bad, I know).

Fog and Front quater marker light question

I kind of came to that conclusion last night after reading your last post -- I have a problem with over-thinking things sometimes, and I think a combination of not seeing those lights on for almost 4yrs and being so used to the front marker/signal lights all being on with my truck threw me off...
