Hi,
I have talked to Steve over my space (i know) I didn't know he was that close to me or else I would drive up to his house and check it out before it gets towed to Any shop.
Steve if there is a time that is best for you to check out your car, please PM me I wouldn't mind looking at it. BTW...
I would run 22 psi on my twins, but only with race gas (leaded) I never did it on pump (91) My best with HKS downpipe, HKS Catback, HKS hardpipes and a Blitz tuned ecu was 327 on stock twins at 15 psi.
I never put the car on the dyno with 22 psi, but I knew that the fuel pump (mk4 denso) wasn't...
I have seen and driven 390 RWHP and 400+ ft lbs of torque out of stock twins with 440 cc injectors and 272 cams. This car is tracked every weekend here in Cali for the last two years, so stock twins can make the power with reliability at 16 PSI.
Haltech is a great box, I have a customers E85 powered, mk4 driftcar running a 2jzgte VVTi with a P 2000. It worked great for his application but as far as price the AEM still has it beat. Our sale price for 87-88 AEM is 1250. I think the Haltech with the good harness and the 3 bar map sensor...
When you install any aftermarket cam, you need to adjust the valve clearance and also degree the cams. Because of the added lift it will affect idle if the valve clearance are off and also if the cams are not degree.
Im overheating right now with flexlites. If I push the car hard and hold high RPM's, the temp shoots up to almost red. If the weather is cooler it takes under 10 minutes of flogging to get the temp hot again. I have a HKS oil cooler just to help it, but it still would overheat. I think I could...
I have done it in to a 91 Cressida, and used all the 7MGE electronics. You will need some of the 2jzge connectors like TPS and distributor. You will have to use the 7MGE AFM and also the injectors. You will have to move some of the connectors around but if you have both engines out it will be...
What are you trying to buy? I have 1jz clips in stock. My prices are higher but my pictures show you what you are buying, not just some random engine pic.
I have tried FIC's on Supras in the past and its hit or miss. The FIC works well on celicas but on Supras it just doesn't work well. I would assume that it's the same on Soarers. I will ask Mitch (AEM engineer about it on friday)
