Is there a trick to pulling the timing belt gear

Gear new is about $70 dollars not $10. After you get done taking it off, have some one spot weld the teeth to the gear on the back side. I've had the teeth come apart from the gear and it makes all kinds of funny timing mistakes.

    JZ coils and standalone EMS's

Randy, The BKR7E plugs are to hot, also the plug is a non resistor plug. Try the NGK iridium in the 8 or 9 heat range before you do change the coils. also iridium plugs are resistor plugs. The BKR7E plugs can cause interference with our ECU's especially at higher boost levels, I've seen weird...

    Jza70 lsd query!!!

Torsen and drifting dont go together. The torsen in the tt-r's acts like an open diff. Replace with Kaaz 1.5 way diff and go drifting.

Rakkasans build, part III (project torque)

You can also use the lexus bolt from an IS300 Mark, and the line can go around the block. All boostlogic NA-T kits come with those.

    JZ coils and standalone EMS's

I have JZ coils on AEM and HKS Vpro runing over 30 psi on two different cars. AEM car has HKS DLI and the other has the Vpro with stock coils and stock igniter. We do run a heat rage of 9 on the plug. What heat range do you run Randy? BTW coils are 14 to 15 years old.

Rakkasans build, part III (project torque)

Mark everything is looking good, but in that last picture you are using the NA timing belt gear. That gear doesn't have the the teeth that the crank angle sensor needs to set crank timing. You need to use the 1jz one.

    Cant get Strut assembly out

Hello Charles, Is the other wheel on the ground? If the wheel is on the ground, you are fighting the swaybar. If you step on the brake rotor hub it should give you enough clearance to get it out. I have done hundreds of shock installs on mk3's and mk4's and have never taken the rear upper A-arms...

    Coolant temp sensor

Any time, any time. I hope you find the problem. :x:

    Coolant temp sensor

The sensor has not voltage, it has resistance. As the sensor gets hotter the resistance changes and moves the gauge. The wiring goes to the gauge and it grounds thru the body harness connector where all the gauge wires come from. If that ground is not going to the right pin it wont work. Also if...

    2JZ NA-T into MK3

You are going in the right direction if you are thinking of using a surge tank. I would use two 044 bosch pumps after the surge tank. I rather have more flow. At almost 400 lph on each 044 pump, I feel safe doing long high speed pulls and not worry about melting pistons. :naughty:

GT30R JZ MKIII (stage 2 in slow progress!)

Coming from a Soapra owner, dont do it! I much rather have the popup headlights right now. I guess because I dont have replacement parts for the front end, I much rather have the regular front. Also the cutoff on the headlights is wrong for us in the States as all the cars are LHD.
