Aaron from Driftmotion actually said the divorced downpipes are too high flow and "nearly" make the wastegate useless. That's why they sell the widemouth one that eliminates the need for the stock elbow.
HKS downpipes have a 2.5 inch opening so it is not a true 3 inch design. I had one on my...
Thanks toyotanos. I did also order the CT26 gasket set from Driftmotion, plus their bellmouth downpipe comes with a new gasket, so I might be set, unless you advise using this stuff even on brand new gaskets.
They certainly look well made. Not sure why the flex section is where it is, but maybe it doesn't matter?
Do these bolt on well or are they a nightmare?

I am going to send my turbo to Albert so he can turn it into a 57 trim CT-26. I have been calling around to many different shops here in San Diego and some places won't take my turbo out because they cannot warranty it or some places want way too much to do the job.
Is removing/re-installing a...
Albert - I just sent you a PM with some more info. I read through your entire thread. Very nice work.
I'm interested in the Billet upgrade. What else would be absolutely required to change/upgrade if I dropped your CT26 Billet into my Supra? Currently my Supra is stock and for now it needs to...
I emailed Aaron to see how much it would cost to have them install if I drove the Supra in to their shop but haven't seen a reply yet. Their website says $590 for a fully rebuilt and ceramic coated 57 trim CT-26, but that's just for the turbo itself...
Wow. Seriously? Half that? As far as shaft play I have absolutely no clue. I might have driven the Supra 5 miles in the past 2 months. I just drive it up the street about every week to keep the fluids going.
I will contact Aaron and see what he can offer for an upgraded CT-26.
Thanks for the...
bloodasp,
yah I know about Driftmotion. They know Supras but LA is over 100 miles from me, while Turbo Masters is only about 30. I just wanted to ask Supramania if there are any other shops in San Diego area that does good work on Supra Turbos and to see if anyone was familiar with...
I found this shop: http://turbomasters.net/
They are about 30 miles north of me.
Has anyone ever had work done there on your Supra?
Also, does anyone know of a place in San Diego (or close to it) that specializes in Supras?
Thanks,
Vega
I won't assume that you don't know this already, but you can pass CA smog very easily with no cat in place. I had a HKS DP to test pipe to HKS catback and a blow off valve on my 91T. Passed smog with flying colors. Twice.
If it turns out to be the turbo, what would you all recommend I do? If I bought a 57trim, can I do a direct drop in replacement or does the new specs alone of the 57 require fuel upgrades and other considerations? I ask about the 57 because I certainly don't want to spend my money on a stock...
The basics are that the engine still idles very smoothly, sounds smooth when revved, and the temp gauge and oil pressure gauge give totally normal readings. I checked all the hoses and brackets and belts. Everything looks fine so I am a bit puzzled. I am gonna take it in to my mechanic of...
Love it. Someday I will park my built MKIV right next to my built MKIII. Nice looking white one you've got there.

I've shipped several cars, but have never used a fully enclosed setup like the one Ben shows above. It all depends on what you're willing to pay and what you're willing to put up with.
Some examples:
- I shipped an Acura Legend from Pennsylvania to CA for $800 - single job, meaning my car...
I like the headlights of the yellow one. Looks better then most headlight conversions I've seen on a MK3. The black sides need to go back to yellow.
And I think that red Ferrari poser looks amazing. If you gave it to me, I would take it without much complaining. Very high quality workmanship...
