Lots of people mention the rear fenders. No question about it. Kinda hard to explain but just that stance alone makes it seem like the car can handle loads of power and huge rear tires (oh wait, it can).
Also, the view from dead straight away side is strikingly perfect. Especially true of 89+...
but when you can improve handling characteristics by leaps and bounds with the kits available, and when you can let the engine setup simply breathe just by opening up the exhaust pipes from the turbo back (the way the engine is happiest anyway), and when you can add far better braking systems...
I know this is kind of an old thread but I thought this one deserved a spot here. This sounds almost exactly like my previous Supra. He mentions Supramania in the description, but I looked up his youtube screenname on here and didn't see it in the members listing.
Anyway, here it be...
Wow! Well played Blackdawg. I think you made a great choice to build up the 7M.
You'll be at at least 400whp with this setup, easy. Everything is looking really nice so far.
Can't wait to see it all finished. And then you can post a video for us all!!
So I just read through this whole post. Very good poins made by many people. It seemed like a draw between 2J and 7M.

My goal would be to have a fully streetable (full...
If it's really as nice as one would hope based on the pictures and the description, then I wouldn't hesitate for a second to buy that car at that price. It's all about perception, and if you sit donw in that Supra and drive off in it and it feels nice enough to spend a measily $5,900 bucks on...
Yah for you folks in TN and LA, I can totally see how you'd be the only MK3 around. Even in SoCal, where there are millions and millions of very nice cars, I hardly ever see a MK3, and I never ever see one as nice as mine. Most people don't even know what they are looking at when they see our cars.
My top 4 favorite things are:
1. The svelte look. With a proper stance, and well fitted wheels, MKIII Supras look angry as hell. It has similar appeal as the BMW 8 series coupes, or even the old Porsche 928 GTS. A nice classic look that real car enthusiasts can spot.
2. The feel. With a...
CJ seems to think it's a good move. He was even able to squeeze two 8 inch woofers underneath it.

Then again, he put up bars every 2 feet or so.
Yep. After I had the whole engine replaced, someone suggested that it could have been the valve seals and that the oil was just burning off on start up each time. At any rate, I don't necessarily regret having the engine replaced since I did only pay the $100 deductible. Worked out nice for me...
Yes I suppose it is different. Mine would happen primarily on a cold start up and last for several minutes even at idle. It didn't usually happen again until the next morning.
I had blue smoke out the tail of my previous Supra. Toyota dealership said the engine was a gonner. I really doubt it was, but new nothing at that time, so I went with it since the car was under warranty and I only had a $100 deductible on $5,700. But I believe the dealership was just pushing a...
This kid has no grounds for his position. If you want the car back then fine, just don't get hosed on the rebuy. Also be careful that he doesn't do something to the car like sabotage it in anger or whatever if he knows you are buying it back.
Obviously he is a spoiled ignorant kid. Even if...
Weird thing is that with my old setup (Eibach,Tokico,ST) with 245 Nittos at the rear, I had no traction problem at all. And that suspension setup was rather stiff all around. Granted I only had about 300hp, so you guys might be talking about a lot more than that. But now that I am back at stock...
holy crap i just saw in your sig that you pulled a 12.4 at 118 on 195s. i've never heard of anyone nailing a low 12 in the quarter on those sized tires with so much power.
any plans to go with a wider rubber patch? it would help tremendously.
i would love to see the look on someone's face...
"Shortened the shifter a tad so I don't feel like I'm rowing a boat anymore".
Oh no! You have destroyed your car! haha. no just kiddin man. I actually just did the same thing. So much better now. But don't let that "SuperMod" with 39,000 posts know that you have done this, else your post...
