***Work in progress*** (changing pics)
I know I’m not the first person to have one of my door locks freeze up on me or get so bad that you can’t even get the key in. This is just a basic cleaning and lube of your door locks. If you get really ambitious you could try and find new...
Guys/gals...My bet is that Rich is gonna build this car whether people send him EVERY part he needs, or if just 1 person sends him a single bent rod. If you don't like it....look away.
I know I’m not the first person to have one of my door locks freeze up on me or get so bad that you can’t even get the key in. This is just a basic cleaning and lube of your door locks. If you get really ambitious you could try and find new parts but I have yet to do so. I am NOT a certified...
haha....yeah
370 million bucks
over 26 annual payments it becomes like 246 million after taxes
lump sum = 15? million. Seriously. Are you gonna get 100 million bucks in interest? What happens when you blow it all and go bankrupt. Efffff that. 10 mill a year would work for me.
Sadly...
I took my calipers off to see if they were sticking. I just happen to look down at my pass. side tire and it was wearing on the inside (2 inches maybe) and managed to wear itself down to the metal wires. ooops. new tires today.
if you broke the actualy lock cylinder then...you're gonna need to replace it or go without the door. You can go without it, but it would be a LOT easier for dirt and such to get in there and jam it up again. When you lube the lock any dirt/dust that gets in there is gonna stick to the lube...
shytheed dumas: I bet you're right about the calipers. I had one hanging up on me a few months back and I could hear it squeeling at lower speeds and I know my rotors are on their way out. I'll tear the calipers off and clean them up see if it helps. thanx!
huh...I'm having a similar problem but it's only around 65-70 mph. I don't think it's harmonic but I already changed out my carrier bearing and it's still doing it. Next i'll be moving on to balancing my tires.
could these vibrations have something to do with the diff or rear subframe...
well I'll tell you what...
I'm just about to do a writeup on how to rebuild your own locks with pictures and the works! lucky you. I just need to find the time to do it tonight or tomorrow.
the little flapper door is probably broken, or you have a seized up tumbler. Lubing...
I'd say if it shifted on it's own there's a few things to look at.
It's not bled right
Master/slave cylinder is busted
you didn't tighten something under the dash
Mine started moving around on it's own (well...not the pedal itself, but the engagement) and it was a leaky master cylinder...
First off...what master cylinder did you buy? Second. The clutch pedal is SUPPOSED to be at the same height as the brake pedal (adjust the height, then adjust the freeplay). My clutch pedal sits an 1-1.5" lower than the brake pedal. BUT, the master cylinder I bought wasn't toyota and the pushrod...
^^^rich just had to ruin the fun
I've put 25k daily driven miles on that motor running the way it is every day...super(a) haha reliable. I just turned the boost down for the winter. Ran great ar's on the dyno. 40+ passes at the drag track as well.
266HP 292TQ 115kmi stock motor, stock turbo, stock exhaust, 115kmi cat converter, stock ic and piping (rigged lower ic hose) @ 11-12psi. basically an all stock 89 with an mbc. 300 is definately possible
adjusting the clutch engages is rather easy. If you take off the plastic cover under the steering wheel and wedge yourself up under the dash. have a peek at the clutch pedal and bracket and pushrod. If you think about it for a few minutes you can figure out how it works and then adjust it. Just...
I second what reign_maker said. A 60-1 ct26 (I don't know if there's still a bb upgrade option out there) sounds like a good option for you. Should spool real quick and make the power you're looking for.
that was stupid. WHY...because running from the cops is worse than having beer underage and your brother being high.
Right now they're probably trying to obtain an arrest warrant and maybe a search warrant. They have your car, they know who you are already.
You can turn yourself in...or...
WD40 is a good penetrator but I don't think it leaves enough of a residue to coat the parts and make them slide properly. They do make graphite lock lubricant that's basically a liquid/gel/plasma of some sort and when it dries it just leaves graphite on the moving parts. I just rebuilt mine and...
