just because it's "recommended" doesn't mean it's any good... ;)
perhaps, YMMV.
the point of MORE tq is to cause the gasket to "squish" more....thus helping seal better. if you're adding tq, adding some other sealant to the mix is rather pointless...
BTW- no over tqing of the stock HG...
if your ultimate goal is just a fast ET, you should run slicks and the highest ratio diff possible (w/o shifting to 5th)....so that would be the NA 4.30. with a good 60' (<1.8) you could easily run 13s (albeit high 13s...) all day long with 200whp.
back on topic, the MAFT pro adds the ability...
there are 2 contributing factors to the 7M's HG problems:
1. low factory tq spec
2. idiots running too much boost on an unmaintained engine (i.e. detonation)
as NA guys, you don't have to worry about #2 and #1 is easily remedied by proper tqing of the bolts/studs.
not the best idea...
eh, they're like $20 from toyota new....people are stupid.
i have like 4 of 'em....and yes, they'll be on the car.
am i a ricer? sure. can my car out gun a real turbo A in every way? you bet.
as always, it totally depends on your goals. what turbo are you going to run? what's your goal power level? those answers should dictate which path you take...
there is no such thing as "cheap" performance. your best bet is to catch up on maintenance....and then do the "normal" progression- intake, exhaust, etc.
coolant temp "mod" will get you little to nothing...aside from less gas mileage.
your best bet is to enjoy your car as is....there's...
