How hard is it to change engine mounts while the engine is in the car???

Aaron, I checked my mounts and there is a nipple on both sides, which do I cut off, triangular pad side or the top round side or both?

Thanks Aaron, I'll double check mine but I thought I saw a nipple on the trianglular pad. Unbolting the mounts from the block doesn't sound much easier as there is the exhaust manifold brace and filter are in the way on one side.. I'm sure the other side is ugly too.

How hard is it to change engine mounts while the engine is in the car???

Sorry for bring up this old thread... Wanted to swap out my broken 89+ engine mounts and replace them with Aaron's Mk4 versions. Glad to find out I need to shave off the nipple, but my real problem is getting the 17mm top nut loose from the mount while the engine is still in the car. There is so...

    lowering tokico vs koni

Don't know if it is related to the Tokico... I put blue's on my 89 along with new poly SS bushing on the lower contol arms. I use Eibach lowering springs and Whiteline sway bars. Since I did this setup, I find my front "bounces" or rebounds with a jump much more over bumps or dips. I think it...

    Let me see your trunks!

Wow, nice 8 sided box... must have been a task to do, but great idea compared to fiberglassing the spare tire well... Nice setup.

Wiring Diagram for Stereo, is 1 + or minus?

Yea, we all know the CHUMP / CHIMP / Champ is a great guy... he has to be with all the poking we do at him, but in fairness as he usually the first to start the poking. Nicely done, Anthony. Glad you came to his rescue...

    tanabe HM resonator

IMO, I would't hack up a Tanabe even it it was already modified. Sell it and get a replacement. I'm guessing the $750 was CND a few years ago... the exchange was a killer and I'm glad I waited... I got mine for just under $500 this winter now that the dollars are par.

    Electric fan problems, again...

This is fishing, but could a sticking Thermostat be a problem as depending where the fan sensor is, it could be reading the cool side of the Rad and the temp sensor is reading the hot side of the engine? When you switch off the engine the heat expansion of the coolant causes the thermostat to...

    The best A70 trainwrecks.

Thomas, George's car (RaptorRacing) is the exact opposite of a train wreck. It is as sweet as white cars can be. You must have wanted to post your AMG Special here instead. Nice try for that below the belt shot but George was wearing the "protector cup". :sarcasm:

    e-brake bypass for dvd player

You'll have to find if the wire is looking for a 12V+ signal or a ground signal. My Pioneer was looking a ground so I just ground it and it works whenever I want... Read the instructions for a clue.

    Help with bass.

Agreed... When I just changed the OEM radio for my Pioneer, it was amazing how much more range the speakers had... the whole system sounded better... That is where I would go next as you already have upgraded the front 6.5s. As for building or purchasing pods, they still need to be big enough...
