Hey I'm kinda a newb to the whole wheel fitment.

I'm looking at Super Advan SAR3's 18x9.5+22 all around. What kind of tires should I run if I got these.

Thanks

it's actually "SA3R" (in case you care).. you'll have to roll your fenders for a decent tire size if you're decently dropped or plan to be.

I have the 18x9.5+18R with a 275/35/18 - rear fenders rolled flat.

The fronts would be more of an issue I imagine. I have 18x8.5+15 with a 225/40/18, but I could easily fit a 235 and maybe a 245 (no stretch).

In your case, you'd like to run a wheel that is an inch wider and will protrude ~13mm further than mine in front, that's if I'm doing the math correctly. So, you will have to roll the fronts flat the same as I did and run a similar tire (probably 235 or 245/40/18), though it will be stretched in this case.

Thanks Boris. So I'd want to stick w/ the 35 sidewall on those as opposed to a 40 w/ these sizes right?

(Front: 18x9 +30 w/ 245/35/18's, Rear: 18x10 +38 w/ 275/35/18's)

Umm if you want you can even run a 40 series in front so you will have the same sidewall height all around. But if you don't want to 35 all around is fine.

XXR 962 17x9 would fit on our cars without any extra work, correct? The offset is +35mm, which if I have read correctly is what we have.

Hey guys, i was planning on buying these XXR 527, their a 10 spoke concave in. I was wondering what i need to run this 17X9.75 and could i pull it off running this size all around? and what kind of suggested tire i would need to run this. I would need my fenders rolled and for the best i think a camber kit would be for the best. what kind of camber kit do you guys suggest? and where can i get it for the best price.
Or would i better off running 17X8.25 in the front? or can i pull of 17X9.75 in the front?
Thanks Guys

hey guys,

I'm going to get a set of saleen sc replicas from teh ebay. I am faced with the choice of either running 17x9 +24 all around with a staggered tire setup, or purchasing an actually staggered set with the 17x10 +25 dished rears. This is gonna push the rear wheels out past the fenders, i presume.. couldnt find pictures of anyone running a 17x10 +25 in the rear without crazy stretched tires. I'd like to run a 265 or 275 if possible, with perhaps a little fender pulling/ beating.. is this impossible? is it just gonna rub all the time? I'm running eibachs and tokikos, so nothing crazy in terms of drop.

here are a couple pictures of CyFi6's car running the wheels without the 10" rears.

Im running Some 5 Spoke Toyota rims. Car that carries this stock rim is unknown to me. all i know is that the rims say TOYOTA on the back of them & they have 17X8 JJ 50 on them... running 245/45R17 right now. i want to know if i could go wider on the back possibly? Rims and tires are all the same size right now.

Found a cheap mint condition set of BBS Rs's http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/rds/pts/2346483698.html
17x10 +22 front and rear. Guessing I'll need spacers in the rear.
Will the front even work or is the wheel too wide?
Thanks for the help, this is the look I'm going for.

If you want it to have the same fitment as in the picture of the red car then it will not be the same because the offsets on that car are in the +40's. If you want to go with a more flush/ stretch look then those wheels will work.

If you don't mind the bulge look on the tire I do not see why not.

probably like a lexus is300 wheels or something or maybe a lexus gs400 wheel they are both a 5 spoke wheel like your talking and say toyota on the back. are you talking about going wider on just the tire or getting new wheels and tires? either way you can go wider but as far as putting wider tires on those wheels you have you dont have much wiggle room to go too much wides you might go 255/40 on it but that would probably be about as wide as you will get. and if you get new wheels as long as the off set is right you can go up to like 10.5 inch wheel maybe more on the rear..

Yes its the Lexus GS400 Wheels & im thinking on the tire if its possible.. so 255 & 40 is too small.. i was thinking 50? i need to lower the car any how. & im no expert when it comes to offset & all that, ive truly tried to understand but im a visual learner

the first number is the width of the tire and the second number is how high the tire sits off the rim so a 50 will look like a truck tire on there... i think back in the old days the hot rod guys called the real wide tires a 50 series tire for some reason im not really sure why. but like for instance a 275 fits a 10" wide wheel and like a 265 would be a 9" wheel and 255 a 8" wheel and so on and so forth you can streach them alittle though ... i had gs400 wheels on my is300 and i ran 235/40/17s on them those wheels are a 7.5 inch wide wheel if im not mistaken.. my jeep has 7 or 8 inch wide wheels on it and it runs 235/75/15's . 50's are just kinda beefy and you will prolly scrub with them on there.. its kinda confusing but just talk to some tire shops and they will point you in the right direction.. as far as offset im not really that great at figuring that out either lol but i know it has to do with the back spacing on the wheel and how far they stick out..

my GS400 wheels are 17X8 so i guess 255 would run good in the back but the front... & 50 offset kinda sticks inwards... sucks but beats deeply scratched saw blades
