Just a comment about lighter wheels. A cheap way to go is '94+ RX-7 rims.. they are 13lbs and I think you can get them for under $200. Same lug pattern but you will need a spacer. They also have to be from a '94+. The '93 rims are not as reinforced as the '94+ and I dont think they can handle...

I think the heaviest MKIII weighs like 3870. I may be wrong, but thats with turbo.. targa.. TEMS... abs... auto.. all the bells and whistles.

Yep, and cooler air has has more oxygen packed in to the same amount of space (more dense) because the molecules are slower moving than a hot gas. Like how a hot-air balloon works.

I think its about 1-5hp for every 10 degress cooler for an N/A and even more on a turbo. Elevation, barometric(sp?) pressure, and humidity also have an affect on how efficiently your turbo works.

I raced my friends old 87 turbo2 RX7 when my car was bone stock. All he had was a K&N. We were absolutely dead even off the line. (I didn't power brake and he had a 5-speed) I would just barely pull on him every time he shifted though.
