    Wifey's New Grocery Getter

Well been a LONG time since my last update. I had almost everything assembled, had to install a push button starter switch, since I guess like alot of these MKIII's it had faults in the ignition system. I did it smartly by installing a 15A fuse inline, so not to fry things. Had it towed up to...

    Couple Questions (wiring)

SupaMan, any idea what that plug controls? I'm thinking it may be something that the original turbo-5sp dash harnesses had that the new n/a-auto harness doesn't. hvyman, is that noise filter on a turbo or n/a? I don't remember seeing anything like that in either the cressida bay or the turbo...

    Couple Questions (wiring)

Ok, well a little more information. The engine and tranny are from the Cressida, BUT I removed all wiring and swapped it over to pre-89 Supra wiring. The Supra originally had TEMS and ABS, BUT the donor N/A Auto that I got my dash harnesses from did NOT, so the bottom most picture wouldn't have...

    Couple Questions (wiring)

While trying to finish up doing my horrible supra project (87 turbo 5 spd to N/A Auto). I have found a couple of plugs/wires that I cannot find a mate for, and one that is broken and I dunno what it is supposed to hook to. Below are images showing the wires/plugs in question along with their...

Indy2k10 meet ***SEE OFFICIAL THREAD FOR DETAILS***

yay, I guess I have my deadline for the Cressida this year. 2JZ-GE goes in next weekend, so I'll have around a month to wire the thing up and finish little details. If I still have the supra I may bring it too, since the Cressi serves as such a great child-taxi :-D

    auto vs manual differences

I love when people question why someone is doing something. As I'm sure a lot of people are thinking, I didn't ask for "hey why shouldn't I just sell the car". I bought the car with the intention of removing the 5spd goodies for another project (my mx83 cressida), and figured I could put the...

    auto vs manual differences

Quick stupid question for anyone who has ever swapped from auto to manual or vice versa. Do the bolt holes on the tranny line up which switching to other kind of shifter? I'm doing a 5spd to auto swap and neither the auto shifter from an MX83 Cressida or from a MKIII (atleast I was told it...

    Wifey's New Grocery Getter

rawr! progress! Engine came out, hardlines got swapped, tranny plugs hooked up, vent pipe (side of valve cover, near oil fill) installed, ISC and TB coolant lines ran. AND engine is BACK in, and here's proof! On a side note, went and picked up another toy for the other project, I'll get pics...

    ID this hose please

Thanks everyone, after being told it might be the ICS, I did a quick search and came up with the diagram showing where it went, and lo and behold. There it was on the engine (after I spent over an hour the first time not seeing it). Sorry for being a bit short on the 2nd post, pulling the...

    ID this hose please

I don't know which it is, I just need to know where it goes. It is not the hose that comes from the wrap around coolant hardpipe at the back of the engine. That one I hooked up between runners 3-4 right behind (closer to TB) the cold start injector.

    ID this hose please

I need to know where this hose goes, as it's about the last thing left to do on the engine before it goes back into the car. It's on the bottom of the intake manifold close to the front of the engine. Here's a couple of pics.

    Wifey's New Grocery Getter

Yay, I got my new dash harnesses in today. Within 2 hours I had the main dash harness in, HVAC back together, dash bar installed and part of the small dash harness is throw together in there too. Hopefully I can get the camera out there and get some pics for everyone. Anyone know if there's...

Mystery plug behind glovebox. Where does it go?

also the ECT is on the main dash harness (the big one with the fuse blocks), which is the largest pain I've found with converting from 5spd TO auto. BTW if you still have the ECT hooked up/installed, could you snap a picture for me? I've tried to find a picture showing how it sits when it mounts...

    Wifey's New Grocery Getter

at least this time we have the proper tranny mount on it. Someone had told me to keep the tranny mount from the auto when I put it in, but the x8's tranny mount is about 3" too wide, and wouldn't mount up. All I have to do is unhook the P/S lines (and my ghetto fabbed p/s res), unhook the...

Mystery plug behind glovebox. Where does it go?

thats not the auto ecu (if you mean the ECT thing), that mounts over behind the passenger kick panel not behind the glove box. I honestly don't know what it is, but I'm nearly positive it's not the ECT.

    removing heater hardlines

yay, thanks poodles. after I get it off I'm going to see if that cap will pop off or not, but atleast not I know one of the big differences between the x8 and a7 7m's lol. (Really wish I would have caught this before the engine went in).

    Wifey's New Grocery Getter

unknown object on driver's side frame rail was the high pressure fuel line, the soft line at the crimp got ripped off. I just cut the crimp off and am going to double clamp some 140psi fuel hose onto it and hope it holds. I found the hardline from the supra and am just going to pull the...

    removing heater hardlines

Well while trying to drop a 7mge from a MX83 into my wife's MKIII supra, I noticed a very large difference. The capped off heater hose thing that is behind the exhaust manifold is not on Cressida engines. Instead on Cressida engines, the passenger side port (which is capped on USDM supras)...

    Wifey's New Grocery Getter

Well, bad news time. No pics today due to trying to get everything done up, and some guy stopping off and spending about an hour trying to push his religion on me. Other bad news is, I'm a retard. That capped off heater hose thing that I asked about very early into this thread is not on...
