    Wifey's New Grocery Getter

    Well after quite awhile there's actually an update. We got the 7mge and the auto trannny into the car. Took me awhile to get some extra little parts for the swap and having time/desire/energy to get out there and mate the tranny up to the engine. Pics tomorrow.

    Xbox 360 Peeps, RRoD Code 0020

    I've had the 3 rings on my 360 three times now, and it was a refurb when I bought it. Every time it does it, I just pop it open, clean the old thermal paste off with some makeup sponges (little triangle things, hold up alot better than paper wipes) and some high % isopropryl alcohol, then apply...

    FT-86 - Can't believe you guys aren't talking about it...

    Wonder how long it'll be before someone is throwing a blacktop 4age into one of them just to say "it now has the CORRECT engine for a new 86". IMO it's not a horrid looking car, but you can't really see any homage being paid to the original 86. Anyone hear what the curb weight is?

    converting from manual to auto :p

    I am going through this also on an 87, except not only am I going manual to auto, but turbo to n/a at the same time. I did not find the ECT plug on the 87 turbo 5spd body/dash harness which is a PITA to remove. Especially to get it out from behind the A/C box. You will probably need the...

    Wifey's New Grocery Getter

    Ok, now all I have to do is clean the garage some, find the intake bolts (I'm worthless like that), bolt the intake down. Do you need to apply RTV or anything between intake peices? Need to goto Toyota and order a new set of gasket, studs and nuts for the exhaust and get it put back on. Get...

    Wifey's New Grocery Getter

    So is anything else needed other than just not plugging them in? I'm not really looking to do anything with this engine, just get it in and running.

    Wifey's New Grocery Getter

    Yes, new engine is N/A. Guess I don't have the VSV's, hell I dunno wtf half the crap on this engine is as far as emissions is concerned. I'll wheel the stand out in the daylight and snap some pictures a little later when I have some free time.

    Wifey's New Grocery Getter

    Well the funny thing is, I have 1 VSV on the side of the engine, but it uses a bluish/green connector (which the supra harness also has). The Cressida's harness does NOT have those 2 brown plugs, but if it's just emissons stuff, I don't really need them right? All I have left to do, is...

    Wifey's New Grocery Getter

    Both plugs are identical in appearance. wires on the closest are black with red stripe and red with black strip. wires on one towards back of engine is black with red strip and green with black stripe.

    Wifey's New Grocery Getter

    Well it's been awhile, but work has been done on the Supra (been mainly trying to get my AE86 running so I can drive that while the Cressida is down). Got the entire dash out (down to just the heater core) so I can change over to auto harnesses. We got the 7m out of the Cressida and ready to go...

    :::INDY 2009 MEET::: (Indy2K9)

    According to Jeff's other thread, Chi is Aug 6-9th. I guess I have my deadline for the Cressida and Supra to be driving (even though both will be N/A for now, unless I stumble into a very large chunk of cash).

    :::INDY 2009 MEET::: (Indy2K9)

    Yeah, thanks Jeff, even though I think the wife and I (with the kids) were there for the shortest time of anyone, after getting lost on the way there, and again on the way to the Indy drift event (which we showed up to 1/2 hour before the end of, so didn't even bother with). After seeing all...

    :::INDY 2009 MEET::: (Indy2K9)

    I will be there, no AE86, Cressida or Supra :-(. Took the 86 out for a drive and it's making a weird noise/vibration at 55mph+, so it's out. Stupid question, it's $10 per person, are kids free or do they have to pay also? I will have my 2 and 4 yr old sons with me.

    :::INDY 2009 MEET::: (Indy2K9)

    Well I finally got my AE86 done and ready for the season.....now it's time to start work on the Cressida and maybe atleast have a working LSD in it with the stock auto n/a crap.

    Tranny ECU location?

    so it is on the monster harness with the fuse blocks? JOYOUS, that thing is a pain to remove. Thanks for the picture.

    :::INDY 2009 MEET::: (Indy2K9)

    supposed to get colder too, this crappy weather is not conductive to me getting any of the cars done and ready. At this rate I may be driving a STOCK cressida down there. I must find another garage to do work in, cuz this crap sucks.

    New

    well I guess you won't have to go very far to attend Indy2k9 on may 9th. I will be down there for that, and then it's over to Ohio for a drift event. I'll talk to the wife and see what she's wanting for the parts and hit you up. As I said in the last post, you will have to source a wiring...

    changing w58 trany oil

    The way I normally change tranny oil is: remove the fill plug (the one on the side), place drain pan under the drain plug, remove drain plug. While the tranny is draining, remove the shifter, when the tranny stops draining (can take quite awhile if the oil is cold), put the drain plug back in...

    New

    Ah, yet another Indiana Supra owner. What part of IN are you from/in? If you really want to go turbo, I have 90% of the parts for the swap just sitting here collecting dust (only parts I don't have anymore is wiring harness and ecu, both easily gotten).
