I agree, no way that sh*t is going back into my engine. And toyotahachiroku, just because some car manufacturers do return the oil from the cc into the oil pan doesn't mean it is good for your engine. Just look at the pcv system of a stock 1jz, it works but it's not good for your engine.
A car...
Just a detail; the things you call 'pcv' are called a one-way valve. The whole system as you have drawn it up is called the pcv > Positive Crankcase Ventilation.
And yes, you can leave out the one-way valve on the intake. The only way pressure could enter the system is through the connection on...
stock radiator and it never ever overheats
pt67 on a 1.5jz
e-fans: two pushers one pull type
early opening thermostat
1.3bar radiator cap
ordinary coolant
I'd say upgrade your fan.
the way the cylinders have fired it can't be fuel: the 1jz is batch injected 1-4 2-6 3-5 it is therefore impossible to only have 1, 2 and 3 firing and 4, 5 and 6 not.
Ignition on the 1jz however is sequential; each plug is fired seperately. They are grouped together in wiring as 123 and 456...
No, I think the heat sink and seperation plate should be enough, I think if I put steel wool in also it will be too restrictive.
I'll post back in here when I've put some miles on it.
I got the ebay-greddy-copy style and added some heat sink from a PC shop in them. I added a seperation plate in the head as well to force the air to go by the heat sink. Here's some pics.
heat sink glued in with a FIPG like glue
seperation plate glued in the head
set-up mounted in a...
I must say I don't have the 'Walbro howl' from my in-tank pump, it is not audible. And no, I don't have a really loud exhaust either, it's fairly quiet.
The in-line is mounted with a rubber sleeve which insulates noise, but in the conditions it kicks in there's a lot more noise from other...
1st No, rob didn't say to pressurize the manifold, he said to pressurize the system; air intake to throttle, that's where the leak probably will be. If not, do the pressure test again but then with the throttle open.
2nd if you keep the throttle shut it's sealed pretty good. With the throttle...
SARD sells high imp side feed injectors which will fit right in and you won't need the resistor pack. I have the 800cc's from them.
Someone please confirm if the stock 2jzgte rail is side feed, I'm not 100% sure on that.
They come with the clips, you only need to replace them as the stock...
