Okay, I've got it running. Fc is the second pin on the AFM harness as per the TEWD NOT the first pin as indicated in the TSRM.
I'm running VERY rich! The only words to describe how it's running and idling are: it chugs. Misfiring perhaps?
I'm getting codes 31 and 24, unfortunately I can't...
My friend who helped my pull parts from a number for cars insists that the two we actually were able to get under were both N/A. I was mistaken on that account. I dug a little (very little actually) and the TSRM lists two for the Cali N/A.
See the third and fourth from the last entries...
Wooooo! I've got signal!
I took a few minutes to go over the wiring in the parking garage at work. I switched all the grounds over from E2 to E1. I don't know if one of the splices was bad or if the groundwasn't passing enough current.
Now, the car will start and idle. If I try the...
The reading from FI has never so much as flickered... whether I'm at idle with both the MAF and stock AFM connected (when the MAFT Pro's output was not connected to VS) or when I connect just the MAF and it's piping and try to start the car. This is why I'm thinking the MAF is the issue. I'll...
I do have +12v at the MAF.
It's all wired per the diagram above, except I still need to move the grounds.
They're not stupid questions. More often than not, it is the little things which get us.
Sorry, I was referring to turbos NOT N/As.
EDIT: Between the cryptic terminology of the EPC and Champion's website I really can't tell if the No. 2 is only for CA vehicles or if it's on turbo models in all cases and only present on N/A's if they're CA spec. I do know that two of the parts...
Dr.Jonez, Bob,
A couple questions. How much current should the LS-1 MAF draw when the engine's off? I have a feeling the first thing I need to look at is the MAF. Regardless of how Aux1 was connected shouldn't I have still seen something in the monitor for FI? Yes, I know it's presumptious...
If they connected the aftermarket's starter kill to the stocker's line for the starter kill both could be killing the starter. The stocker provides ground when disarmed, some aftermarkets supply ground when triggered. In this situation, if you set off the aftermarket it'll bypass the stocker's...
Well, everything's been outlined here. Except for a massively swelling brake line. Check the switch connected to the e-brake and try swapping out the fluid sensor (if it's a part that can be easily swapper out, I've never looked for it on our cars, on some it's built into the booster and on...
The car's running as well as it had been, no issues other than all the unneeded fuel being poured into the intake. The car won't run with the MAF and/or the MAFT Pro connected, nor will it run with the MAFT Pro connected and just the stock AFM connected (I'd expected that much since I'd need to...
Update:
Well, fixed my wiring today, I had mistakenly connected Pin 6 from the 10 pin harness to VC instead of VS. Now the car actually tries to run, but it seems like it's getting flooded. FI is still reporting "0". The only difference from the diagram I put together above is I have both the...
It's the cheap part that worries me. Most cheap filters either do a piss poor job or they're restrictive as hell.
As for the piping, with our AFM the resonator actually helps things (despite what most people like to believe). It's the accordian hoses which increase turbulence.
The Apex'i units come with an adapter specific to the car.... I need to replace mine soon though, I'm going to need a 70mm round adapter in place of the rectangular version that fits our AFM.
