    Fuel Pump Relay

Oh, sorry, I thought you were looking for the impedence. Also keep in mind that the amount of voltage the fan sees after the resistor pack is going to depend on *actual* current draw.

MAFT Pro - N/A install - Translator Mode

Note about USB to Serial adapters: The most popular and successful adapter people with the MAFT Pro are using is the one sold by Sewell. This adapter is actually made by another manufacturer (whose name escapes me, presently). They're sold by a few different companies, QVS is another. I own...

    Change Gauge Color to blue!??!?!?

I cut out a replacement for the green turn signal plastic lens out of 1/8" acrylic and applied frosted tint.... looks great. Another option would be applying some light tint, such as 20% grey, that way when they're off it looks black. :icon_bigg

    Change Gauge Color to blue!??!?!?

The CC's LEDs and those most of use in the accessory switches are 3mm. As for the recognizability issues of various colors, I've rarely been in a situation where the color of the guages and the one second of adjustment time mattered one bit. This is all rather academic, I'm sure everyone here...

    Tranny question

Yeah, the auto is the same on both cars, same size housing and same diameter gear. As for not having needed to drain your gear oil, I'm stunned... I got drenched. Also, the drive gear for the R154 has a smaller diameter than the drive gear for the W58... just enough to prevent it from mating up.

    Tranny question

You need to swap the sender gear from the old tranny into the new one. There are different gears for each diff. It's where the speedo cable meets up with the tranny. You might need to drain the tranny first... you do with the W58 since the gear is on the bottom. As for the diff...

Retro fitting my 87 with 89 parts.

The LSD will grant you better traction, but that's it. I was under the impression that, having no clutch packs, the open diff. actually provides better power transfer.... only so long as there are *no* traction issues. Unless the LSD was thoroughly worn out, you'd never notice any difference...

    Change Gauge Color to blue!??!?!?

Actually, red is no easier than blue for the eye to focus on. One takes longer for the eye to focus on (red) the other is more likely to overwhelm and fog the vision (blue). In both cases a brief period is required for the vision to, for lack of a better word, clarify. Psychologically, blue...

Retro fitting my 87 with 89 parts.

I thought only the GTE saw an increase in power from '89 on (and it was VERY small at that). And I'm certain I've never heard anything about the W58 having been reworked. I could be wrong, but I think you're mistaken here MKIII N00b.

    Engne Management options?

SAFC II is a great, very popular and well documented fuel controller. If that's all you need it's perfect. If you think down the road you might want to ditch the restrictive, stock AFM get the MAFT Pro. If you think you might want timing control check out how much a SAFC II *and* MSD6 will cost...

    Engne Management options?

First there is a difference in MAF Translators: http://www.maftpro.com/ There's the MAF Translator, the MAF Translator Gen II and the MAF Translator Pro. I don't know if any of the more basic models (MAFT or MAFT Gen II) support the 7M-GE's electronics. The MAFT Pro offers alot more than...

MAFT Pro - N/A install - Translator Mode

Yeah, I've gotten REAL familiar with that page. Remember, Bob said that nothing on the 6 pin harness is connected... unless I misunderstood.

    Nice ass NA motor,

Okay, so it's not a 7M.... thought it was supposed to be a 7M and I couldn't figure it out. Good to know, I couldn't begin to think of how to move the thermostat housing to the other side of the head.

MAFT Pro - N/A install - Translator Mode

Okay, I've gone back over the wiring and here's where I'm at: (click for a larger view) I recall a few differences from how my system is wired... I think I made the mistake of looking at guides on here concerning MAP setups with the GTE electronics and the manual (the purple wire from the...

MAFT Pro - N/A install - Translator Mode

Okay guys, I'm a little confused here. Bob said nothing connects to the 6 pin harness, but in the manual it says that pin #6 on the 6 pin harness is the Aux 1 trigger.... isn't that what's supposed to be outputting signal to the ECU? Also, isn't there supposed to be a connection to the O2...
