The first things to check are your O2 sensor, plugs, plug wires rotor and cap. If they're fine then you should look at the AFM, TPS and ignition coil. There are a couple other possibilities, but these are the most common.
I've wondered about the location of that nipple ever since I got my setup running... on mine it's in the same spot as it was on my stock intake piping. I guess it's because I'm using a CAI kit.
They all recommend keeping clear of gas and oil, but heat shouldn't be too big of an issue at all... unless you're wrapping the lines aroung the exhaust manifold.
Also check the wiring to the two pins on the AFM harness closest to the headlight, they're part of the FC (emergency fuel cut) system for the fuel pump relay. If you've got a bad connection there or if the switch they connect to inside the AFM is shot the fuel pump relay will cut out..
There IS a difference between well made silicone hoses and the cheap stuff. If you're sure of the material and vulcanization process then have at it, but if they melt or dry out in a year don't expect any sympathy. :evil2:
The regional section is still there... here... look for a blue bar with "Regional Forums (Events and Meetings)" All the way to the right is an arrow to expand it. http://www.supramania.com/forums/index.php?
Here's the link directly to the regional group...
Hey, thanks for the interest.
My reasoning for considering switching to speed density is as follows: 1) a MAP sensor is required for boost control and I do still plan on eventually going N/A-T; 2) I'm also considering it just for the sake of those out there who would rather go that route...
The Cressida didn't come with ACIS and as such had no "Y" pipe. They do make a couple horsepower less than the Supra's 7M-GE, not much, but yes, there is a loss.
Well, I'm personally eager to see if any other N/As feel the same increase in responsiveness I did.... yes, I'm biased, but not unrealistic. There's responsiveness to be gained for sure, as for HP... mine feels alot stronger, but as I've mentioned before it could just be that my memory of my...
Keep in mind that while this may not be specifically related to the outside temps, some things such as the injector and fuel pump resistor packs create heat.
Unless there is something horribly wrong with your car's wiring pulling the clips from the 5 and 6 injectors to get it started shoudn't...
You're right about the intermittant thing.
I don't think it's flooding or the low fuel pressure though... low fuel pressure would be even more of a problem past idle. As for the flooding idea, pull the injectors and test them for leaking. They'd have to be pouring out fuel to flood the...
Yes, you can replace the purge line with silicone. The purge line is a a regular vacuum line, no liquid fuel should be going through it. Some vapor yes, but you'll probably get rid of the car long before you have to replace the silicone hose due to it breaking down...
