Today was the first start up of the engine after a complete rebuild..
Symptom: It will start right up with no hesitation, and run and hold a nice steady idle for about 5-10 seconds, during these 5-10 seconds my fuel pressure is around 40 and my vacuum is about -16. Then it starts losing fuel...
Well the 100A alternator fuse was blown took it out and replaced it...primed the engine...adjusted my cps and the engine fired right up after a year and a half....so excited right now..thanks all!!
Heres where I am now, please excuse my complete lack of knowledge in this department, I'm trying.......Thinking i might have blown that ALT fusible link or something else, because I had everything right...Neg. is grounded to block and wing of car, positive goes to fuse box and starter, and the...
I'm leaning toward a vac leak here BC it may be getting enough when you are in load but when u go into nuetral it stumbles...other than that it could be so many things and u really have to put in the work and check them off the list...maf sensor, plug wires, injectors, isc valve gummed up...
I will get a pic, but there is clearly a positive (red) and negative (black) cable. What i need to do is get back out to the shop and see how i wired up the starter and alternator. It's been awhile and i cant exactly remember. Can anyone briefly explain what wires run to the starter, alternator...
I will obviously be checking the fuses, but that will not tell me why the fuse blew in the first place. I will be back out there later this week and will verify it, but like i said i don't want to be just putting fuses in and watching them blow over and over, if it did blow there is a reason it...
First off here is what happened: I put all fluids in and was getting ready for my first-start moment...I set the battery in the tray, connected the positive first, then when i went to connect the negative it sparked like mad :aigo: But as i pressed the cable onto the battery terminal it stopped...
I see larger oil cooler but nothing about new pump. At least make sure you feeler the gears in it and it is within spec. Scary to think that much money into something and a faulty pump could take it all out.
Toyota sells them and I bought some from them recently. better off going with the hex bolts though that you can get at any parts store so they don't strip again but I had other parts to pick up at yota so said screw it.
Exactly what I was thinking...if you're not gonna do it right might as well not do it at all....bigger injectors and pump, new exhaust Mani and turbo, standalone and tune are just a few things that come to mind...$5000+ is a pretty big deal to my wife!
