first i wasnt comparing the vehicles simply stated i had a "car" with similar issue and turned out water pump was cause. how would there not be a coolant loss with loose head bolts? if there is no leak in the coolant system, no excessive pressure in cooling system from combustion gases, then to...
i literally had an intermittent water pump act the same way, it was a bmw, anyways what would happen was the impeller would free spin on the shaft at times, causing car to get hot then would catch all of sudden and cool back off.
I would check to see if coolant did get in to sealing surface of...
Ok so i am ditching this mbc and going with something good. I dont wanna take the chance and skimp my engine on something that could be harmful. I am looking into the aem tru-boost, think this will be more accurate and less chance to blow shit up. good investment or no?
so if you were to install it in the cabin say on the passenger side, still reachable you would have shorter lines and still have accessibility?
I am still debating on whether or not i even wanna use mine it seems shading and the way the air flows through doesnt seem to be proper to me?
Ok so on the the manual controller, with the knob turned all the way negative it is closed cannot blow through it, 3 clicks positive (1/4 turn) can start to feel air. The more positive it goes the less restriction, is that proper operation? How does it work? The more pos the more air that vents...
Hey grim, i believe the one i have is ball and spring type. Look at the link in the first post and tell me if thats the kind you are talking about? I am just a little unclear on the line routing? I dont understand why one is just vented? and the "T" just doesnt make sense? i did however pull...
Ok so i got a second hand manual boost controller, turbosmart. I am not quite sure how to run the vacuum lines? The controller has two ports, one that has an arrow that point inward. Is that from the wastegate, or charge side of turbo? Also there is another "T" that has an arrow says face toward...
There is a thread started on the cxracing turbo. take a good gander at that. It states that the bearings are chinese, but read through it and make your decision
damn i wish i had mine already take pics if possible then well start a how to thread on the pita. my car is stripped down and ready for install when i get it.
good call IJ i will avoid the silicone. I got some from toyota awhile back cost like 5 bucks for the turbo and block gasket. so lets hope they have a couple left, along with the coolant pipe gasket.
i think it is metal, fipg? silicone? that sucks they should include them with the turbos. if i had known i would have ordered a set. looks like i am calling toyota might just buy new ones and not have to worry about a leak in a bitch of a place to seal. thanks
I tried searching but not getting anywhere. is the turbo oil supply/drain gasket reusable? I heard awhile back it is and its not? Not sure if my dm turbo is gonna come with gaskets or not. let me know thanks in advance
