If you take the proper steps in cleaning and preparing head and block you should have a decent running car. The only issue you might have is the unknown head condition. Make sure once installed torque studs to spec and recheck after 5 heat cycles. should last a awhile given it is doen properly...

on the bottom side towards the front of the lower intake there is a coolant passage. Make sure you dont have a crack in the tb, or a leak from that lower intake area. Are you sure its coolant and not just condensation?

just check them the same way. In my case my code was not a hard code and would go away when started. Chances are you have an afm or cps code.
