I will definitely send top and bottom ends to machining and put a Cometic MLS headgasket (think stopper type may be overkill at the moment, isn't it?).
My early goal is to achieve 300+ and later what I can safely achieve with stock internals.

I drove about 520 km with this BHG.
First 400 on national roads (cruising), and 120km in heavy traffic (5 home/work trip + 1 home/garage trip).
It's during the first 400km that I have light overheating and coolant consuption.
After 2 home/work trip, I've seen big coolant...

I have a quotation for a good local shop, that I'm told it is trusty, and I have a good feeling with them.
This quotation is for top end + bottom end repair (machining, etc..), with OEM gaskets and Cometic MLS...

A blocked injector may cause overfuelling.
I don't know if it's a reliable test, but here is what I used to do to test if an injector stay open:
At idle unplug an injector, if idle goes rough or die, injector is not faulty, else if no change it may.

405 turbo 16 was a great car. For "people" market, 400 bhp in a 2 liters L4 in late 80's, that's way better than our stock supras.

I have my engine rebuilded. Will let you see pics of 15000km egrless operation with stock eudm ecu and E10 fuel.
No problem so far (I think), a bhg due to overheating next to a broken line. I will see if any sign of overheating of piston head due to EGT

As misfire, I haven't explosion in exhaust. Just littles ploc and an idle within the +/-50 rpm range from 600 or 900 rpm (automatic transmission).
My spark plugs are about 20000km old..
I have about 20% more gas mileage since I've removed EGR.
I should have a look to piston heads when my headgasket will blow out, but it don't want from now :p
Maybee my spark plugs can tell me some things...

I've gone EGRless since 15000km (about 9320 miles).
I've didn't made any mod except:
- silicon hose (the engine temp is cooler than before)
- runing Unleaded 95 + 10% ethanol (called SP95-E10 here in France).
I never get any ECU Fault Code, and it's runing really fine, except a...
1/3 of turn while running between 1000 and 6500 rpm seems pretty fast yes..
Will it be fast (or smart) enough to prevent detonation (ie for abnormal lean mixture caused by injectors or egr failure)?
