Not to beat a dead horse, but NGK Iridiums are only $42 for me($6.99 each). Coppers are $9($1.50 each). This is at Pep Boys.
$42 @ 30,000 = $42 for 30,000 miles
$9 @ 3,000 = $90 for 30,000 miles
In the end it's actually cheaper to run the Iridium if you aren't racing. Although the extra...
I might be able to swing by a meet for a couple hours in Orlando.
My parents just moved there from Chattanooga and if I have the cash to get down there it would be a 2 for 1 trip for me.
Just really depends on whether or not I can save the gas money or not.
If it's been sitting for a while then you can expect 'some' smoke the first time or two you run it.
Idle in these cars is actually pretty low anyways(650-700 is normal). I would say run the gas out if it's been sitting and check it with some fresh gas.
The coolant I'd 'burp' a few times and...
Those I would replace for sure. But most muscle cars get newer studs when the rear axles are swapped out(at least those that I've seen being restored/built).
I know they're strong from the factory, but as much torque as those bolts see it's only a matter of time.
I was thinking about replacing mine with ARPs this summer anyways. 20 yo studs just make me a little nervous, especially with how many times wheels go on and off a car.
I love being underestimated. Nothing like some ricer going 'WTF????' and then popping the hood for them at a gas station and showing them that even a car from the 80's can beat their Civic.
Several of my 'close' friends even laughed at first, until I got it running right. Now one guy in a 383...
Then I must have 3. I have one on each side of the rear, and if there's one in the window...
The passenger side one has never worked(stays down) and the drivers side is broken. I'm just going to get an s2000 mast and fill the holes.
I personally like a deep glossy black.
Or if you want the 'blue tint' look, try to find a paint card of HoK 'Midnight Blue Black Pearl'. It's a gorgeous deep black that has a blue shimmer in direct light, but looks black in the shade/at night. Probably about 2-3 times the price of standard...
It fits/looks great. I like it much better than the stock knob. Got mine from a TRD Short Shifter for 94-99 Celicas(out of my wrecked 95).
Only problem is the TRD badge on the side is starting to fall off(after 3+ years of daily driving and sitting in the sun), but that can be fixed with some...
I did that to a biker when I first got mine(about a week after replacing the injectors and turbo). I felt soooo sorry for the guy because he got behind me at a stoplight on the way home from blowing the HG. The light turned green and he got a cloud of vapor in his face.
My sister lives in Alpharetta and I visit on occassion.
I was on 75-285-400 Christmas day. Although I probably won't be down there again for a while, next time I am the car will be running a bit better.
I love the stiff pedal feel. My 85 Celica was almost as stiff(as was my sister's old 85 Celica, both GTS mine hatch and hers coupe), and my 95 was even stiffer.
So I think Toyota just likes stiff pedals(although I don't remember my sister's 99 Camry having a stiff pedal, so maybe it's just on...
Without another circuit of some kind the TT won't be able to retract the lights.
I'm sure something could be wired up with parts from RadioShack for a couple bucks though.

PlanetAuto. $1.40 each
There is a huge difference in person between the Celicas 'standard' dark blue metallic and the HOK pearl. I have seen the Celica close up, and have the HOK paint book, and the HOK color is just amazing compared to any other pearl blue that I've seen.
And supradan, how long will you be going to...
Definitely! It's just hard to find paint shops willing to work with HOK(at least around here).
If I had the cash, I'd get HoK Black Pearl/Midnight Blue. Looks black in the shade/at night and dark blue metallic in the sun.
