    Exhaust Stud Time

How short does the bit need to be? I'd started doing a little more research and decided I need to ask Aaron about getting the kit minus the bit anyway, but your bit looks extremely short. I think the shortest I found on a quick search was a 5 5/8" for a 3/8" chuck. I plan on just going to the...

    Exhaust Stud Time

Like the title says, it's time to get the driftmotion exhaust stud kit and I'd just like some suggestions on anything else to do/check while I'm in there. I'd been having to tighten one of the studs every few days, and it finally decided to strip completely. From the looks of it, the PO had...

    Thermostat Location and replacement.

Best answer ever. < $30 for gasket, t-stat, and rad cap from Toyota. Same price as a good oil change and takes 1/3 the time. I believe it took me 10 minutes from 'Honey, I'm going to work on the car' to washing my hands afterwards.

    Strange bearing/wheel problem

Nothing? I'll add that the lower ball joints and PS rack were replaced 20k before the first bearing went out, but being an original bearing I figured it was time, and still can't see the relation to a bearing. Oh well, if no one has anything to say I'll just clean it out with gas or...

    Strange bearing/wheel problem

I typically don't ask for help, but I'm lost on this one. My passenger front wheel bearing and hub were replaced with Toyota parts about 10k ago due to a squeaking noise(think bird chirping) and the rotor not wanting to 'set'(the rotor would always be loose when taking the wheel off). I...

April 27-29th, "Deals Gap" (US-129) Supra and Others Meet

If only I was still in TN. I went up there with some Celica guys a couple years back when I still had a 95 Celi and it was an absolute blast. GL with the meet.

    89 octane???

I ran 93 for the first 2 years I had the Supra. Then started running 89 when gas hit $3/gallon. Since switching down to 89 I haven't noticed any change, although I'll be going back to 93 when I start modding(poor college student blah blah blah).

    Spongey Brakes

If you have new(or reman) calipers up front I wouldn't bother rebuilding them. As for the rears it's about an extra 5-10 minutes when doing a complete brake job. All you do is pull the old rubber bits off, slap some lube(supplied in the rebuild kit) on the shafts, and throw it back together. I...

    Spongey Brakes

I'd go with the stainless lines and rebuild the calipers using the Toyota rebuild kit(~$20 per axle from the dealer). The rebuild kit replaces all rubber parts on the caliper giving you a caliper that is just as good as new. I rebuilt mine when I replaced the pads/rotors and it made a huge...

Stereo Install w/storage space THANKS Jeff Lange

My old 95 Celica came stock with the pocket with the door. The door was broken and Toyota wanted $30+ for the 'door pocket' so I just went with the standard pocket.

    Sticky gas pedal

It's a very common Toyota problem(not just mk3s). My 95 Celica and 85 Celica both did the same thing, though the 95 Celica was the worst of the three I've dealt with. Luckily on the Supra there are enough adjustments to make it a little better. On mine I adjusted both the throttle body and the...

    Just moved to Orlando

I actually start a job tomorrow night. It's just Papa John's, but I'm working on getting something better and it's still better than no job. I'll definitely be trying to get out more once I start getting a paycheck to put some gas in the Supra.

    Just moved to Orlando

I'm a couple blocks east of 419/434. I haven't really been getting out much(rather low on funds at the moment), so I don't know the area very well yet. I'm just happy I can find my way to and from UTI(off 528 by the airport). As for the mk3, I won't really be doing anything to it for another...

    Just moved to Orlando

Update: I talked with UTI this morning and will be going down there May 9th(this Tuesday) to take a tour and start my paperwork. I also fixed my IC piping(replaced a cracked lower pipe with a radiator hose from Autozone and just wrapped it with duct tape to keep it from flexing, and tightened...

    Just moved to Orlando

I'm on the opposite end of town. My parents place is in Oviedo. I'm sure I'll see you at a local meet though. Good to know that I'm not the only Supra owner new to the area. I'm in the blue/blue(2-tone) 87 turbo with TN tags if anyone ever sees me out(normally have the targa off unless it's...

    Just moved to Orlando

I actually moved in with my parents and haven't gotten that far with UTI yet, probably more of the late July time frame for me. If I were to get a roomate it would be my fiance moving down from TN. I'd definately be up for a good Supra meet though. Chattanooga didn't really have a lot of...

    Just moved to Orlando

I've been off the board for a while, but I'm finally in Orlando. The Supra ran great all the way down and got 26 MPG even with all my stuff(I barely had room to sit). Hopefully I'll be online more now and should be making it out to some meets(UCF isn't too far from where I'm at). I still have...

    Just bought 87 trbo

Good to see another 87. Mine needed a bunch of new hoses, new injectors, new turbo, head gasket, lower control arm bushings, steering rack, bypass valve, and now wheel bearings. It's an older car and will need plenty of tlc, but can still be a very reliable daily driver or race car(drag, SCCA...

    first kill

Just out of curiousity, was it an SVT Contour, or the regular kind. If it was SVT then it's a good kill, if it was the regular kind then I consider it like killing a Civic.

    Turbo too loud?

I also have the HKS SMF and get the same 'air leak' sound between ~0-4psi(on the stock gauge) at partial throttle. I didn't notice it until after I installed my Forge Motorsports BPV, so maybe I just need to change the spring in it(comes with 4 different springs), but I'd like to see if it's...
