    Contact Lenses? Cheapese place

The difference in prescriptions is that they sit on your eyes instead of 3" in front of them. As for the cheapest place, dispite what the online places say, my eye doctor only wanted $14.95/box for Acuvue 2(3 pair/6 weeks worth). I've even seen an ad recently for a local place that had them...

I now hate bmw's, and their stupid ass drivers

That's about what my 95 Celica looked like just before I got the Supra. I feel your pain. I had just gotten done paying $340/month for 5 years(got it before the 2000 came out) when it was totalled by a motorcycle. Just find something better with the insurance money(like a 92T), and don't...

    quick question - SSautochrome

Only thing I can think of is that it's for MkII's with a 7MGTE swap. Being a different engine bay the clearances would be different.

    Cressida VS Supra

Toyota does this a lot. It's more than likely changes in the timing/fuel map of the ECU. The Supra 7MGE ECU was for a sports car while the Cressida ECU was for a family sedan. One example I really remember is the 94-99 Celica(I owned a 95 ST for over 5 years before I got the Supra). The...

    Spark Plug Change Issue

Sorry, I didn't mean the line going to the accordian. I meant just capping off the part that goes to the TB. Stock there is a small rubber hose there. The only thing I could see it being there for is to allow the turbo pressure to go through that line creating a vacuum to pick up more oil on...

    New member, pics of ride

Welcome to the boards. The biggest tip would be to check for cracked hoses and any other things the old owner may have neglected.

    a sad day for me

I would say a 240sx. RWD, NA, plenty of available parts and you could even do an engine swap 'later in life' to get some boost. MR2's are nice, but can be kind of expensive and hard to work on. RX7s are hard to find a mechanic for, but are easy to work on if you're mechanically inclined and...

    Spark Plug Change Issue

That's the best way. The other way is just cheaper/easier for a weekend mechanic. I'll end up with a catch can eventually, but will be running with it capped for now.

    Spark Plug Change Issue

Sorry, I didn't mean cap off the PCV totally, just the one pipe that connects to the intake. When you boost it forces air through that tube, picking up way too much oil. Just leave the metal tube that goes from the valve covers to the intake in place and cap off the part that connects it to...

    Spark Plug Change Issue

That would be 'blow-by' from the PCV system. If you remove the hose that goes from the PCV tube to the intake and cap off the holes it should be greatly reduced. Check the lower IC hose for oil as well.

    Spark Plug Change Issue

I was having a similar problem, but only with #6. I know it's a bad ring, and will require a rebuild before I start adding more boost, but the band-aid fix is to use 'restore' additive(any 'compression restoring' type additive should work) and I'm running 20w50 now. It still smokes under...

    is this right?

Time to go back through a vacuum diagram and go get some coax to rewire the knock sensor.

    is this right?

Don't fret. Mine looks like that too. $#@% PO. It seems to throw the code mainly when it's over 85 out. Under that it's fine, but still needs to be fixed. I've already got all my supplies, and found http://oldschool.supracentral.com/htm/knock.htm to be the article I'm following when it warms...

You know you're a Supra owner when...

Oddly enough a guy I work with is getting 1j for his 88 rx7. He was always talking about putting a 327 in it, so I asked him about a 1j and it looks like he's going to do it.

    Which oil do YOU use??

I run 20w50 Castrol GTX. And the 'Super Monitor' resets the oil change interval at 5k. I still change it at 3k though.

Will a newer climate control work with older Supras?

Plug and play. I have one in my 87(just got it last week). Took all of 15 minutes to install with a phillips screwdriver. The foot/defrost setting doesn't work, but all other settings work fine.

    Alternatively fueled supras

In addition to mpg, what steps are needed to convert from gas to e-85? And will it work(ie, no ping/detonation) in a modified turbo motor?

    Florida Meet

I'm out. I have to spend the cash to make it to my grandfathers funeral in Arlington in April. Won't be able to afford anything else for a while.

Anyone know if st205 rims will fit our cars?

If you are talking about the ST205 Celica GT-4 then no. Celica rims are 5x100 bolt pattern and ours are 5x114.3.

what bov do you run and why do you like it or hate it

Forge Motorsports Piston Closed Loop. Comes with 4 different springs and completely killed my compressor surge.
