Just spend the 5 minutes (or less) removing the upper control arm.
I learned a long time ago that shortcuts typically take longer than doing it the 'right' way.
Because I can't afford to be without a car if anything should happen but I can afford the extra $15 a month. It's still only $800 a year even with full coverage (31, 1 ticket in past 3 years).
It is possible for the water pump gasket to leak at certain temps and not others. Not very likely but possible.
Happened to me last year. It wouldn't leak a drop cold or once fully warmed up but had a steady drip (one drop every second or so) in between temps.
Go here (Cygnus) to look up part numbers.

May as well just fix what you've got. And if the head really is a goner you can always find someone here with a rebuilt head for sale.

It says 89 but they have the 87-88 for $30 more (1 extra piece).
Sure it's gonna take time to source/install all the little stuff but that's half the fun of owning an older car.
Can't say what Amped's plans are but I dug up specs for the Warp 11:
Continuous RPM: 3000
Redline RPM: 5000
Ft/lb @ 300A: 74.3
Ft/lb @ 1000A: 320
Ft/lb @ 1400A: 460
Since his page says he's got a 1000A controller it's got 320 ft/lb of torque and a top speed over 100 mph (5000 rpm in 5th for the...
I'm pretty sure the Teins don't.
So my 2 cents would be to get new uppers ahead of time. The old ones are probably shot anyways and it will save you tons of time having to deal with compressing the springs.
I haven't had the valve at all for a couple years and have no problems with 90+ degree FL weather. LSS the valve cracked and I didn't feel like spending the $$$ to replace it when it only operates at 65 anyways.
There is a separate control for the 'heat' function. The firewall valve only...
3rd vote for clutch master.
You're lucky. My 85 Celica did that to me. Only I wasn't able to use the clutch at all. Thankfully it was only ~5 miles of straight shifting to the dealership.
Talk about timing. I was planning on getting a set soon and was debating yours, beech, or rk. Looks like it's BIC. :)
BTW, how long is the sale on for?
It's easy enough to pop the box open and check for bad solder joints. Most of the time a couple of the joints crack from age/vibration where the plug solders into the pcb.
If you have any soldering ability whatsoever it's a 5 minute fix (and that's waiting 4 minutes for the gun to heat up).
