This is why you should change your Fuel Filter

Never heard of a fuel pump sock that repels water. I've gotta see this. But on topic. Toyota filters are good but not infallible. I had fuel filter problems on a 95 Celica ST at ~160k. It had a slight stumble that had developed at idle and WOT. Changed the plugs, rotor button, and the...

Had a run in with a LEO tonight

As many tickets as I've gotten over the years (~20) I've learned that cops are just regular folk. As with any group of people you are bound to have a few a-holes, a few that take their job way too seriously, and a general population of normal decent human beings. And yes, that's a lot of...

Who has the highest Mileaged MK3?

I don't miss those days. Delivering in a MK3 can be a lesson in taking in less than you spend keeping it going. 207k on motor/chassis, 125k on turbo. Head gasket was done at 120k (not a full rebuild, just changed misc gaskets/timing belt...).

    knock sensors

You could splice one sensor to both ECU leads. But I would consider it a short term solution until a 2nd sensor is in place. And I wouldn't say it runs like hell. More like crap.

    missfire cylinder 3 and 4

Sounds like it's not firing at all on 3-4. Since you've already changed the coils (COP to stock) that should eliminate coils as the source. Check the wiring from the igniter to the coil packs. 3/4 are on the same lead so I would start looking at a wiring issue. Maybe something melted or came...

if you own a Mishimoto rad for you Supra, please read this.

Ended up looking a bit closer. The hit was from the shroud being loose where the upper driver side shroud mounting tab split and cracked. With the shroud properly held back I have 1/2"+ of clearance.

if you own a Mishimoto rad for you Supra, please read this.

87, original mounts, replacement shroud. The shroud took a hit and has a couple scrape marks inside. Not like A.Jays pictures, more like it's just been rubbing and has a couple cracks.

Suggestions while the head is off?

Rear 90* were replaced in March. Front 90* would be good though. Front/rear mains will be done IF the block needs machine work. If I don't have to pull the block out I'm not going to. And the 3rd valve cover/gaskets have already been replaced.

Suggestions while the head is off?

Thanks for the replies. O2 added to the list and shims will be checked/replaced as necessary. I should know if I need shims by Saturday AM so the dealer will still be open. The plan is to start Friday around 6 PM and have it road worthy by Sunday evening. If not I have to borrow the parents...

Suggestions while the head is off?

After losing almost 2 gallons of coolant in just over a month I've decided it's time to tear into the engine. Over 95% of the coolant hoses have already been replaced in the last 2-3 years. Radiator was replaced ~3 months ago with a Mishimoto. (no fan blade contact per the recent threads) Random...

    StarCraft II

Looks like a 3-4 year build. I built this about three years ago and can still play on Ultra settings: ASUS P5KPL-CM G31 Motherboard Intel E6300 Core 2 Duo (not the new E6300 Pentium) Rosewill 600W Modular PSU GSkill 4 GB DDR2 800 XFX GTX260 (only 'upgrade' since the build, started with a 7600...

    Codes

Don't waste your money on Chiltons/Haynes manuals. Just get the Toyota manuals. As for not getting a list of manufacturers/prices..., reading engine diagnostic codes does not require a code reader on these cars. Ask for an exhaust/BOV/turbo timer/... recommendation and you'll get a few. And...

Possibly drivin the supra down to fla.... if it breaks anyone able to help?

GA to Cocoa should not be a problem. I made a Chattanooga to Orlando move without issue before I fixed most of my problems. 5 trips back and forth over a 2 month period and the worst thing that happened was running low on oil a couple times. I can only imagine what people were thinking seeing...

No hazards + Check Engine light + Turbo not boosting like it used to = FAIL

Figures. The guy I took mine to did the same thing (broke the KS while replacing the starter). +1 to I6Boost's comments about doing it yourself. If your not a DIY person when you start with a 20+ year old car you soon will be after mishaps like this.

    StarCraft II

To add to TD's point I do remember Total Annihilation. That was definitely a top 10 as well but StarCraft had more replay value for me and is still on my PC to this day.

Nice. I've been playing XB360 for all my newer games lately so I didn't know. Should be fun in ~2 hours then.

    StarCraft II

I was going to do that but I really wanted the box/DVD on this one. I don't get off work till 4:30. :( Hopefully Mac and Windows can play together so I don't have to reinstall XP to play with large amounts of people. Came with: 2 StarCraft II 'Guest Passes' (7 Hour/14 Day trial cards for your...
