A used 7M will have to be rebuilt or you will be back here asking what to do again in 6 months.
Everyone has already chimed in and said the 2JZGE would be better (except the couple who want to argue for the 1UZ)...
The 2 lines in the last couple pics are your oil cooler lines. I had to replace mine with some standard 3/8" hose last year (about to do it again as the cheapo autozone hose is already getting brittle and leaking a bit).
You may have 2 separate issues going on there. I'd replace the oil...
If it's been 3 days I'm assuming you've started/driven it a handful of times which would definitely set codes.
Bad gas mileage can be a number of things including (but not limited to) fuel pump, injectors, o2 sensor, manifold gaskets, afm...
Check codes and report back.
They redesigned it a couple years ago. FWIW I have an original design on my 87 7MGTE that I've revved past 6k more than a few times and it still hasn't sprung a leak.
Happy Halloween and Happy belated birthday. At 33 I find I'm taking the occasional (once a month or so) Sunday afternoon nap that I never used to need.
I agree with SC and Grandavi.
SMART indicates that it's going bad and like SC said it will just continue to get worse. You're more likely to end up with a lawsuit than a thank you when dealing with someone else's private data. They threw it away and have already written off any files they may...
Buying a 25 year old sports car as a daily driver is not a wise decision. If you want the car go for it but be prepared to walk that 3 miles every now and then.
1 - Already stated my opinion.
2 - TPS could need to be adjusted, if adjustment doesn't fix it then it will need to be replaced...
QFT - Most highways more than 50 miles from a major city are the same way. 95 between Miami and Daytona, 70 between St Louis and KC, 75 between Atlanta and I10...
I've gotten out of more tickets by just being respectful than anything else. Yes there is the occasional douche that just wants to...
College budget you want something reliable with readily available parts. I'd opt for the 2JZGE and leave it NA while you're in school. Still enough power to be fun and plenty reliable.
Essentially you'll need: JZ to R154 bell housing, engine mounts (or 89+ front subframe), and wiring/ECU...
1) Should run ok with the Lex AFM/550's but it never hurts to run a wideband o2 sensor to keep an eye on things. Upgrading your fuel pump would also be highly recommended.
2) If you already have it apart then yes, change the oil pump. Sure it's $200+ but would you trust your freshly built...
If it were me I'd grab a Lex AFM to go with the 560's and enjoy until you get the AEM. This way you're out less than $100 and only have 1 extra part that can easily be sold when you upgrade.
Turned out to still be raining and cold Sunday but I got the master/slave installed and bled AND got my Walbro installed. Due to rain and yard I had to rush the car work so there are no pics.
For those that complain when there aren't any promised pics you can enjoy some of my old work:
That's why I went with Aisin over other brands ;)
And I got it in today (warehouse turned out to be in Cleveland so 1 day ground shipping ftmfw :D )
It's raining and cold so I'll get it done tomorrow and snap some pictures to finish off the thread.
Thanks. Aftermarket master and slave together is cheaper than the factory rebuild kit for the master so I'll just order them today.
I guess she's getting herself ready for winter between oil cooler lines, power steering pressure line, speedometer cable, and now this all within 2 months.
