And that would have to be one of most single gay stupid non functional idiotic ricer wannabe try hard "mods"/"fads" that exists in the Mk3 world :stickpoke
Johnathan: It's when the VSV works and flows hot water into the heater core but the Air door stays shut so no hot air comes out (there's a door on a servo motor under there controlled by the CC)
I had this issue with my car when I got it and ot took me forever to isolate and correct.
Greg: My "guess" for what it's worth is it's gone WAY lean under boost and somehow hung the exhaust valves open then torched them.
I can't see any way for Ceramic to hang an intake and even if it did it wouldn't break a spring it would just backfire and clack a lot.
Mine was from too much...
I welded in a bunch of bracing on mine to reinforce that area and put a tube brace across the back for the 9" rear mounting points.
(used the stock rear bottom ones)
I used an 89 JDM Subframe in mine when I did the 9" install.
We don't get snow here so my 86.5 is pristine but I figured I'd use the 89+ for the tube braces.
 mine they have little metal clips that allow them to come off the Balls, for engine changes I don't unbolt the hppd at all now just open it so it's standing straight up (I have a piece of Pipe lagging I sit on the screen that's the right thickness to stop it going too far back)
