Yes the will pump through whichever is slower at the time so no real obstruction and I can cruise around in Summer with the AC on and not have it overheat.

Block>ALT Bracket>AC Bracket
If you bolt the AC bracket on first you can't fit the Alt bracket (I knew there was something annoying about this bit)(guess who forgot this time)
But the Alt bracket sandwiches between the block and the AC bracket if that helps. (If you delete the AC bracket you'll need a spacer the same thickness)
Mine is in the Lower Rad hose and is set to come on at a certain temp, I use it for low speed summer traffic and for high rpm where the stock pump tends to cavitate.
Frank: The half thou deflection happens each and every time you torque the bolt to 36ft/lbs there's no if's or buts about it.
Over tighten it and the deflection is more to the point it won't return when undone.
I have my blocks bored and honed with a Tq Plate and the tensioner bolted in...
